The chrome stem and sprocket are cool but don’t match the rest of the bike I think.

Laced up some black Fit Arc rims to a new bsd front street hub and my odyssey hazard v3 today, chucked on some black grips. Think I’ll buy a black bsd stacked stem and a black Bsd super light 25 tooth sprocket to black out the rest of my safari. I also

Me neither, crazy for sure. Bolt wasn’t cross threaded or anything like that either, just tightened the wheel on as normal and the threads just went. Bolt came out with all the internal threads on it, about 30mm depth totally stripped. Unreal.

Yeah I had a look at axles, found them around £25. I will get one and lace the hub up to an older eclat rim I have for a spare wheel.

It is a 4130 axle, just shit quality I think. That’s why I’m surprised, if it was an aluminium axle I’d understand. I just ordered a bsd front street hub to replace it with, should be good.

stripped the whole way out of the axle on the left side earlier on, just tightening my wheel on. Incredible, I’ve never stripped a thread so easily in my life and never 30mm of thread either and I fit bolts for a living! Not sure if anyone else has had ... more »

Yeah I know weld placement and order is the key, if you weld stainless you will find out about warping problems, even large diameter shafts and such will warp, we clamp it and like you say weld it strategically and it doesn’t warp half as bad, on a shaft ... more »

Don’t you use jigs to fix fix the frame tubes in place before welding, I know slight warping is hard to avoid but proper jigs and clamping fixtures should hold the metal in place whilst welding and during cooling to minimise warpage

I’ve never used the welding play dough type stuff you describe man, stick and tig is the plant we have at work, I can stick weld pretty well, we use it for general repairs that can’t be brought to the workshop because it’s simple and portable. What is ... more »
