Cheers dude. I'll have a look at it at the weekend.

Cheers dude. Yeah, they struck me as odd looking. Should I swap them over. It didn't occur to me that the left and right side would be different (are they different?). Mind you, the brakes are nice and sharp and snap back well...

Cheers Charliekeet. Yeah, if everybody was the same... boring I'll go check out that Eastern Thread. Thanks for the heads up.

This is a blast from the past. It's awesome mate. I love it.

To keep the chain tight when tightening up my rear wheel bolts, I flip the bike over and wedge stuff between my frame and wheel. I do it at three points. One on either side to keep my wheel centred, and one the forward end (near the bottom bracket) to ... more »

Cheers, dude. Yeah I read some stuff, seems Eastern aren't overly popular these days

Cheers guys. Yeah, the gyro's really nice. Everyone rode them back in the day when I first rode, but they seem a bit out of fashion now. Lots of talk of bad brake setups etc. But I've got them dialled in quite nicely. The front brakes are really strong, ... more »

Hey guys :-) I got this back in September for my birthday. I've not ridden seriously for about 13-14 years or so, but with my son now 7 and wanting to go for bike rides, I couldn't face getting a boring, grown up bike and so got this!

Cheers guys. I've put the order in. If my spindle turns out to be a 20mm (which is probably unlikely on a mass produced cheap crank) then I'll just bite the bullet and buy a new crankset.

Hold the phone... I think I've just figured out what I have to do! You can buy sealed bottom bracket and spindle combos with 8 spline ends like this. I think will do the trick.

Hey guys, I've been riding again recently after a 15 year hiatus. The bike I bought has a 3 piece crank but has a loose bearing bottom bracket. This is whole new world to me. Back in the day I never came across a loose bearing bottom bracket on a 3 piece, ... more »

I had a 3 piece years ago that used to work loose. Problem is, it's probably been ridden loose which actually microscopically stretched the thread the bolt won't bite like it once did. I solved my problem by using a healthy amount of thread lock on the ... more »

Back in the 90s I bought a second hand Boss Racing frame which I believe was from the late 80s/early 90s. It was a good quality frame for the time. Aspects of this bike here remind me of it, not saying it's definitely a Boss though...? Have a browse ... more »

Haha! What are the odds... I had a set of bars years ago that would migrate like this. I'd notice after a ride from time to time that they'd slipped like this. In fact, the knurled bit of the bar actually started to wear smooth from the movement, which ... more »

Added reply in a thread Stem with no knurling - is this ridable? 9/29/2016 2:44 PM

Ouch! I must not have been riding hard enough, felt a slip and was able to sort it before they moved more. I can only imaging a full loss of grip and bars swinging down instantly. That must have really hurt!

Added reply in a thread Bike/Car Decals? 9/29/2016 2:19 PM

No decals for me I'm afraid. I remove them all, even stickers put on from the factory. When I was a kid though, I used to love the sticker packs that came with Ride BMX magazine in the UK. I'd find a space for every single one of them on my bike somewhere! ... more »

I was a scrawny, little guy in my teens and struggled to keep up with some of my mates on their BMXs as they had more sheer physicality to pull their bikes around and do more outlandish tricks. I focussed on more ground level stuff. Used to practice ... more »
