Reply to What to do when you have a broken ankle 10/21/2020 10:33 PM

That sucks. I’ve got medical conditions for which I am prescribed the good shit. If it weren’t for that, I’d be Cheech & Chong’ed out all the time these days.

With an injury like that, I’m guessing he already is. I’d imagine the docs hooked him up with some good shit to knock the edge off.

I am a fat sumbitch with enough meat on my bones to be comfortable in the cold. I’m also from Kansas City, grew up watching Dennis McCoy ride, and happen to ride a Haro DMC Master, so I can relate. Lol

That’s pretty awesome. I knew nothing of it before now. At my age/ability, it wouldn’t be a destination for me, but if I were younger and more talented on a bike it surely would be. Congrats to you on getting your trip organized. Looks like it would ... more »

That’s well said, and is a point that I think is sometimes lost on guys who either have more money to spend, or are serious enough about BMX to invest in the top tier gear. There is certainly a place in the sport for guys who either can’t afford to drop ... more »

Is the OP pulling our legs here? I don’t know a lot, but I know enough to feel confident saying that what is pictured here is simply the seam where the rim is formed during production. It’s completely normal, and the only reason why it stands out in ... more »

Sorry, I can’t offer any insight, but your post has raised my curiosity. Where is this place you mention? I’m always looking for somewhere new to travel to.

That is true (my bike was a Haro), but Mongoose made the kind of bikes back then that a kid could ride anywhere without catching any grief from his buddies. If I hadn’t had my Haro, I would have wanted a GT (heck, I DID have my Haro, and I still wanted ... more »

So, is the Legion L100 the only complete bike of decent quality that Mongoose sells these days? If so, that is a shame. I’d like to see them make strides toward being what they were when I was a kid.

I gave up BMX for 25 years, and it is now far more physically demanding for me than it used to be. I want my youth back.

First of all... Your old school 20” looks amazing! I couldn’t be comfortable riding it, but it is awesome anyway. Also, glad this thread was helpful in pushing you along on a new purchase. Now having some riding time under my belt, I can say that the

I’m not one to follow trends. I’m 40 years old, so I have been there and done that so to speak. My current bike is the first that I have owned in 25 years. I bought it because it is just like the one I had when I was a kid. I had no regard for what was ... more »

What’s all this talk about not riding due to the cold? Bikes were always one of the hottest big ticket items at Christmas, and a Kansas City Christmas morning is usually a bit brisk to say the least. Still, we would take those new bikes out and ride ... more »

Nice man! The color swaps are badassed!

Reply to New bars on my Haro 10/17/2020 5:26 PM

That’s pretty cool. I believe that was what they did for colors on last years model.

Reply to New bars on my Haro 10/17/2020 12:48 PM

Yeah... I debated on how to position the bars, and spent a bit of time tinkering to see what was most comfortable. I found that a bit of the Chicago lean suits me pretty well. Besides... I dig the Cubs. Lol

Thanks guys. Much kudos to forum member “Adamnmexican” for providing a link to where the bars were in stock. Still gotta get a package out to him in appreciation, but been home bound the last couple of days after my kid got his nose ... more »

I dig the Magnum. Nice ride for sure. I had a 5.7 Hemi in a 2006 Ram that I owned for a while and it was fun to drive. I can only imagine that the same in one of those wagons would be a blast!

I’m so out of touch with what’s good and what isn’t, but I believe Stolen has a decent name in the game, and that color is where it’s at. Nice choice in my opinion.
