Is there a way to check sealed headsets/hubs/etc.? Everything on this bike is sealed, and the bike is brand new.

That’s good times right there!

I will try the recommendations to grease the seat post, and to tighten the spokes. The spokes may take a bit to get to though as the bike I had as a kid wore Skyway mags, and I would assume that a special tool is needed for the spokes. I will have to ... more »

So, I have checked everything mentioned so far, and have yet to identify the source of that his noise. I have discovered that the noise is far less pronounced when I ride standing up, and gets more noticeable when I pedal while seated. I really hope ... more »

Jammed out an hour riding with my son today, and had a blast. It feels so good to be back on a bike, and I am noticing that riding longer distances, riding up hills, and getting up to speed is getting easier with each time I go out. I tried to ride standing ... more »

Even back when I was very young, I was never very good at most tricks. I always had fun though. My biggest tricks were mostly variations of, and additions to the basic bunny hop. These days, the biggest trick I have in my routine is the simple act of ... more »

Those bars look a lot better on your bike, and look like they would be a lot more comfortable to use for cruising around on. I’m a bit confused about how high I should consider going though because it seems 9”+ is the norm these days for 20” bikes, but ... more »

Agreed. Before I ponied up the bucks for my Danner boots, I used to buy duty boots made by companies like 5.11, Bates, and a few others. Those boots would leave my feet aching at the end of a shift, especially if I spent a lot of time out of the patrol ... more »

On the topic of shoes, I am way out of touch with what is “in” these days. What I can tell you as a guy who has spent four decades developing my opinion, is that GOOD footwear is one of the most important things a man can have in this world as far as ... more »

Yeah. Those Haro bars are what I’d prefer, but I can’t find them in stock except for through an overseas vendor that appears to be charging more than double the price for them not including shipping *if* they would be willing to ship. I’m now, debating ... more »

Made it back out for an hour today. Tried to take it easy due to back pain keeping me out of action for the last couple of days. I’m still hurting, but not as bad, and for as much as today’s ride kicked my ass... I enjoyed every second of it.

Sounds like some taller bars are in order. I just came back in from a one hour ride, so I am hoping my back tolerates it for at least long enough to get a new set of bars installed. The ride today was challenging due to pain. Can anybody recommend a ... more »

It’s definitely helpful to hear from someone that is close to my age, and has also gone the 24” BMX route as I think the 24’s are a somewhat different animal than the 20” bikes. There just doesn’t seem to be that many guys riding the 24” bikes, and as ... more »

I hope my back adapts to the new routine because for the last two days it has hurt bad enough that I simply couldn’t ride no matter how much I wanted to. As for the bars, I really do like the kneesaver design although I knew aesthetically from day one ... more »

So, I have heard a lot about shorter bars causing people to deal with lower back pain, but not much about pain in the upper back. I just got back into riding, and was hitting it pretty hard everyday for several days in a row on my new Haro Freestyler ... more »

I think the bad thing about sponsorship is that it causes impressionable people, youth in particular, to associate the skills of a particular person with the product of the sponsor when the two rarely have any connection to one another outside of a business ... more »

I never really paid any attention to bar height or geometry when I rode back in the 80’s/early 90’s. The new Haro 24 that I bought came with a set of knee saver bars with a 7” rise. They look kinda odd to me, and after several days of riding, my upper ... more »

Nice! I always wanted to ride a bowl back when I was a kid, but there were none to be found in my immediate area and my parents were not supportive enough of the idea to drive me to one. Now, all these years later, there is no way I’d try to get air ... more »

Rode another hour and a half today, and honestly it kicked my ass. I rode hard though, and am getting very comfortable on a bike again, so all is not lost. I may do another hour tonight if I can talk my body into it.
