Added reply in a thread 19mm vs. 22mm spindle 3/19/2015 1:30 PM

wow, this is a good thread. what a fun argument. they feel the same in terms of rider position. if you draw a line through the center of the spindle to the center of the pedals, they're in the same place. rider position would be affected by frame geometry, ... more »

Added reply in a thread What music you guys listen to? 3/16/2015 10:21 PM

i've got old injuries that kinda force me to ride flowy. riding aggro is painful. but i get what youre saying. all the Syd Barret stuff and a good chunk of the rest of their stuff is weird and hard to jam to if you ride fast and hard. but those 3 albums ... more »

your avatar is Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, yet you didn't mention pink floyd. put on the whole Meddle album, follow it with The Wall, then Division Bell. my music is a big mix. its all about the contrast. 90's rap like Ice Cube, Nas, 2pac, Busta, ... more »

half links are like the Devil's anal beads. except not. stop feeding the trolls.

Added reply in a thread injuries 3/16/2015 8:29 PM

broke both arms riding DH, went over the bars on a 30 ft stepdown with no helmet. 4 plates, 16 screws, and 58 staples in the arms, and 13 stitches in my face. it took almost a year to get back on the bike. 5 years later, i still have killer arthritis ... more »

Added reply in a thread Tires put on backwards 3/13/2015 8:19 AM

probably just lazy. it doesn't make much of a difference unless you compete technically, it will wear the tire a little faster, but some people might tell you it provides more grip. it's just a theory tho

Added reply in a thread Does this crack look really bad? It's been like this for a week and the crack isn't fully through the frame yet. 3/13/2015 8:17 AM

jump on that warranty. when that thing cracks, it's gonne go all at once and completely separate the HT from the rest of the frame. that'll cost you a few teeth.

Diatech brakes but not Tech77 levers? what?

Added reply in a thread Big bars 3/12/2015 10:10 PM

god yes i miss those bars. i went up from Odyssey skim milks (like 7" total rise i think) to the first gen lumberjacks and thought i was soooo pro. i was so impressionable at 16. now my friends have perfect 10's laugh at my 8.75" bars for being "tiny" ... more »

Added reply in a thread Cult 510 Chain? 3/12/2015 9:18 PM

well "no one" is a stretch, but yes, thank you for agreeing! most companies have their parts manufactured by another company. thats how most industries work. hence why i said brand is irrelevant. the type of chain is what matters, not who makes it. i ... more »

Added reply in a thread Monolever Spares 3/12/2015 7:59 PM

how can you not? i can't stop getting monolever mediums. people throw them in with everything i buy used. i think theres 5 floating around my crew and i had to work so hard to get rid of them cuz the medium and small dont fit my hand nicely.

Added reply in a thread Cult 510 Chain? 3/12/2015 7:49 PM

did you miss the part where I said "regardless of brand"? the number isn't the model's name, its the size and classification of the chain. kinda like the difference between 19mm mid and 22mm mid BB's. the question is which product will suit your bike, ... more »

Added reply in a thread Cult 510 Chain? 3/12/2015 5:38 PM

a 510 chain is a 510 chain, regardless of the brand. I use a KMC 510 most of the time, and it only makes "funky noises" on worn out sprocket/driver teeth. as long as your wheel and sprocket are new-ish, it'll be fine

Added reply in a thread Pillar Spokes 3/7/2015 10:04 PM

I love how this kid is still trying, even though everyone on this thread has said they use DT's. my DT's have been laced to my wheelset for 5 years of riding, over the course of 2 snapped frames, and i've never broken a spoke. Sean, stop trying. you're ... more »

i googled "Philippines bmx distribution" and found this. http://www.flipbykes.com/ give 'em a call, tell 'em what you need, and ask 'em to ship it to you. i dont know if they still do, but Odyssey used to make cogs for 2 pc cassettes. these guys sell ... more »

Added reply in a thread Begginer tho 3/6/2015 10:01 PM

when in doubt, just find the model with the most sealed bearings and chromoly tubes within your price bracket. ideally, you want a bike with all chromoly (aka crmo or 4130) tubing and sealed bearings in between your cranks (bb), around your fork (HS), ... more »

Added reply in a thread Titanium sucks! 3/2/2015 8:56 PM

Canada. free healthcare is my saviour. don't hate titanium. i used to ride DH until a 30 foot drop off the front of the bike snapped both arms like twigs. i havee 4 titanium plates, 32 screws, and it took 58 staples and 13 stitches to close me up. the ... more »
