Yeah, I use the Giant for Practicing hops and manuals. This thing is pretty dope - full chromoly cheapness at $270 this weekend. Upgrade the wheel set in the future and it’s more bike than I need for a long while though I’d probably want more top tube ... more »

Fortyseven, is that a Framed? How do you like it? I love me some cheap bikes and that finish had me looking hard before I found my Craigslist beater. Re top tube: I’m 5’7” too. My flatland rig has short ass chain stays and a 19.5” top tube. My knees ... more »

Added reply in a thread How far do you regularly ride your 20? 2/13/2020 11:26 AM

Generally speaking, exercising for your health is about getting your heart rate up for an extended period of time. Anything counts. I mow my damn lawn and shovel snow with a heart rate monitor on - just keep the pace up, keep the heart rate up, BOOM ... more »

I have no patience. I put it back together the next day and have ridden it lightly once, a week later. Waiting for it to fully cure - probably a month - before I subject it to a commute.

Hell yeah. I just started deadlifting regularly - trying to get one good day a week. I’ve always excelled in the deadlift and seldom do more than one work set a week. My best pulls were 550 and 525x3 at 185. Once a month is enough to progress when you’re ... more »

It was about 45-50 degrees. Not ideal but warmer than it’s been around here. It’s taking a while to cure, though I’ve been moving it inside at night to speed things up. The good thing is, one drip settled out in the cold.

Yeah man. YouTube is your friend. Convert it to a freecoaster, save your pennies for a while and don’t jump it in the meantime, if you want to keep riding it. Riding that bike with no brakes and a freecoaster will make you really appreciate a decent ... more »

Awesome, and thank you for the brochure! Where did you find that? I was pretty sure it was an 02 but the chainwheel and decals on that one look different. Maybe mine is earlier/later than 02? If anyone knows, let me know. I scored this for $75 five years ... more »

Yeah man! It had to be done. So fresh now. It was too dull before, chrome cranks and all. I like it so much I’m probably going to strip it, toss in a new bottom bracket, threadless headset and have it powder coated that lilac.

Lol. I didn’t see that I typed “motor”. Whoops. I guess I feel similarly about 26” bikes being called BMXs. I just love my 24 so much that I get defensive about it!

Added reply in a thread 22, 24, or 26??? 2/8/2020 7:03 PM

We’re getting into semantics here. If we’re calling them cruisers, then 20s are called class bikes. Class or cruiser? They’re all BMXs. My point is that if you want the feel of the BMX you experienced as a kid, a 24 is a great option. RichBurke03, I ... more »

BMX = bicycle motorcross. Classes are by age and bike size. Two sizes: 20 and 24”. I get your point but my 24” BMX is fast as hell and feels every bit like a 20 did when I was a kid. I’m just bigger now. I love my 24 and definitely consider it a BMX. ... more »

I love my 24. With the seat maxed out, it’s comfortable to ride for miles and miles. It’s what I ride with my son when he wants to go somewhere.

50 is the new 30 man! Good shit! Everyday is pretty much leg day for me. I don’t have time to really dig in on squats twice a week so I break it up into four workouts and deadlift on Friday. So, Mon-Fri are leg days. Bench Saturday, rest (and ride) Sunday. ... more »

I use a heart rate monitor when I run to keep my pace in check. When I ride my 24, it stays about the same as my jogging pace but spikes on hills (obviously) where I’d generally walk to keep my heart rate down. With the 20, I’m holding a higher heart ... more »
