Covid has actually helped the bicycle industry. 2020 and 2021 will be record years for BMX sales. Hopefully, the upswing does not end for a few years.

The only times I have thrown my bike is when I have been hurt, Like needing to go to the hospital hurt. Other times are when a person or I landed a sick trick and I have thrown it out of amazement.

That Fit 2021 TRL (2XL) looks like a nice starting piece for the money. They put the brake in the right place and usable gearing on it 10T-30T IMO I think Fit does a good job of putting parts together to make the bike and the overall balance of their ... more »

If the surface is to land on I would go with two plys of 3/8s or 3/4 single ply on flat surfaces. Honestly. If I was to build something like the plans you showed. I would build it in 3 sections. I would make the deck its own entity.

The link does not show the ramps. 3/8s I would say is too thin for a single layer. A mini kicker under 2ft high with enough ribs 1/2 inch will work for the top.

Larger the radius the mellower the transition/ curve is. You have to take into account the height also. 2'-6 you will pretty much be laying the bike down to use pegs.

That is why my thought is something like this. https://saltbmx.com/products-2/chain-tensioner/ If push came to shove, could extend the dropouts by supergluing or epoxy something on the part of the tensioner to space the dropouts making them longer.

Scotty could have payed to have it built in his own backyard or a warehouse. Monster Energy etc. pay $ to build ramps and maybe get one video out of it. In reality, Scotty has a good amount of content from the ramp.
