lol actually yeah it's still kinda stripped and slips but it still works for now! Is that bolt something that can be purchased solo? I wouldn't dare to dissemble and waste time at home depot trying to find a replacement... if that's stripped is the seat ... more »
i..i dunno what to say.. Thanks man! yes it is and I was using too-small bits, i couldn't see into it w/ flashlight enough and to me it looked far smaller. bolt wasn't stripped, i can adjust seat-tilt while it's in the bike now!! fuck yeah! not gonna ... more »
sorry i'm not trying to bump posts here (this isn't so heavily-trafficked that it'd make sense to do so, anyways) but i just tried my bro's Snafu 1-piece seat/post combo, and it's slightly below where i want when at its max but it comes across as 0.5% ... more »
edit- i can 'adjust' it, if i take it off of the bike.. it's just not adjustable when in-bike. If i remove the seat&post, the seat goes forth/back on the post w/o hesitation. But when i throw an allen key into the top of the seat, i cannot get any ... more »

oh and ppl need to be more technical when describing things that are spec-oriented (ie, bike checks where they leave out bar width and stuff like that, or the fact that I cannot find key-size for my animal seat on any site right now, and cannot remember ... more »
Added reply in a thread need a new chain! 6/28/2014 5:32 PM
what chain do you consider best? I recently got a barely-used bike and it has a 510 odyssey chain on it.. it appears/feels to be close to factory, but i dislike riding a used chain, have eaten it too many times on bad chains in the past. Was thinking ... more »

don't wanna derail, but oilslick is basically just burnt chemicals on the steel, right? Can any steel part be oil-slicked if you clean it and had an acetylene torch?
Added reply in a thread Stop supporting nike 6/28/2014 5:29 PM
people who support nike will probably continue to do so. there was never a valid reason to buy into companies like that, and ppl who did so just because of the 6.0 marketing campaign are/were being taken the same as any kid playing hoops and wearing ... more »
Holy shit #4 all the way! Just grabbed a united supreme recently (a 2012) and was setting up pegs the other day, was shocked to find the axles were these 'shemale' (lol, couldn't have phrased it better myself) rigs and mind=blown. My top reco though ... more »
rubbish. It doesn't matter if you're broke or a millionaire, $40 for a pair of 4" steel tubes is price-gouging and is the definition of overpriced, lol. And yeah a company needs to make $, thnx for that revelation, but you're paying for brand names buying

it's a sealed cassette, yes. Actually, this was surprising to me so i posted here and then went to my lbs, and they came to same conclusion as me: WTF? we took it all apart w/ chain whip but it's a 14mm axle, according to United's site (t's a mostly-stock ... more »

So I just got a set of pegs that need more clearance than my axles currently had. I had no trouble adjusting the front-axle to accomodate its peg, but for the rear I cannot get this thing loose... I haven't worked w/ a 9t driver in a bit, and am just

hell yeah you should. I've done the same many times, it's fun as hell to make a turd polished-enough and hook up someone who wouldn't appreciate higher-quality anyways. I've actually got a POS mongoose (like, wal-mart style) that i've been meaning to ... more »

don't mean to thread-jack, but i'm ordering a half-link chain - can i use my generic chain tool on that like i do on my 510 chains? Honestly this thread is 1st i've heard of a chain that can't be worked w/ in the usual fashion.
lol dude i'm 5'7" and have the 9.5 vultus bars... they actually came on my new (used) bike i bought like a week ago, and are gigantic IMO. It came w/ an odyssey 'lincoln' stem though, and flipping that stem doesn't affect the reach but drops them 3/4" ... more »
