Oh man I put a pair of bars in a few weeks back, didn't think the slight bump on the knurling would be an issue, and when I started pedalling hard (a block from my house) they just flopped right down! I should've stress-tested them by hand before going ... more »
Damn I've had the exact opposite experiences, and am having trouble picturing how they *wouldn't* whip out of control! I mean, once the bite is lost and they're sliding, they go ALL THE WAY (in every instance I can remember where this has happened to ... more »
That had crossed my mind, but was afraid that, in the act of sanding, you'd reduce surface area, and that the increased grittiness of the surface may not compensate for the loss in total contact area, I dunno.. Anyone else second this idea of sanding ... more »
Ok I have two ody lincoln stems and I would've sworn they had knurling, but they're both 2nd-hand so it's gotta be bar imprints! Thanks for the installation tips, I always do the X pattern but had forgotten about checking height to make sure the gap ... more »
HELL YEAH! I was really hoping to hear this, I've spent a lot of time re-finishing this stem and really love its height::reach dimensions relative to my stem (ody lincoln) so wanted it to work! I made another post while you may've been writing that one, ... more »
Oh and another thing I'm unsure on is whether or not I can use a small spacer to raise the stem's height - I cut my steerer tube to fit my current stem (which has a 2mm taller stack height than this Fit one does), so I don't have a lot of space to work ... more »
I'm not sure if all stems have knurling where they clamp the handlebars, I know there's no knurling at all where the stem clamps the steer tube and it obviously bites just fine, but I know some stems (maybe all, I'm not sure) have knurling where they ... more »

I'm pretty sure it's a mid BB, seems the same size as my bike's which I know is mid...and definitely not heavy, his bike's about same weight as mine 24-something-lbs

I think that may be right, as I've got known 9"s (lumberjacks and vultus) and they're certainly not the exact same height, I mean we're talking an eighth of an inch maybe, as 9" does land in the bars for both of them, but it's in very different spots ... more »
My friend got a used Verde complete, I got the bars from him (pictured as they were when I got them, have since stripped them to raw) and I was hoping to ID them so I knew some things (particularly whether they're crmo or not), but when I look through

Thanks! And I like black but the paint always wears through! drives me nuts, I don't think I'll be leaving raw cranks anytime soon! I just rawed and installed a new set of bars (verde) so now my bars match my cranks (well, they're starting to, they'll ... more »
I'm giving it another go - last year, after getting this beast off of craigslist (buyer wasn't aware what brand), I took pics and tried to get an ID but failed, I'm trying again as I may need to switch my parts over to this frame lol and I really wanna ... more »

The differences are minimal for sure, I went from 25:9 to 28:9 and I prefer my new gear ratio but I would like it a bit lower - so I know it's 26 or 27, and since my brother's bike is incredibly similar to mine in most respects expect the gear ratio, ... more »
Ok so I've always been pretty anal about having everything tight on my bike, I love the feel of landing and the bike just feels solid AF, and part of that was keeping my tires really high (like ~100psi) I commute on my bike as well as 'really riding', ... more »
