Why can't you put the axle in from the non-drive side, until the raised part of the axle is on the inside bearing of the driver, and just hammer that? I'm sure that'd pop it out before it pushed both bearings out of the driver! I'd also take a chain-whip, ... more »
I'm looking for a guard sprocket in either 26 or 27t, unsure just now, but sadly those sizes aren't available in any of the common guard sprockets (odyssey's LG2, sunday's knox, subrosa's magnum, colony's menace, fit's key guard, s&m's x-man, eclat's

I've got the new bearings in-hand, I have an entire like-new (RHD) kink wheel I'm taking donor parts from, some of the bearings are loose on that axle (others are secured in the hub and driver), I have a loose one in-hand that I've double-checked is ... more »
Thanks man! How do you think it'd look if I rawed the frame (frame only, left everything else as-is)? Am so on the fence about whether to raw it or not, guess I could beat it up a bit more then worry about that, for now I really just want to find a 27t ... more »
Never heard of a bearing-puller, but I just checked and it is the same size bearings thank god (luckily I had the nice bearings handy, and also happen to have the 10t driver for my lhd hub, so can tell it's same diameter but unsure on thickness) I was ... more »
What are you talking about? Who's considering buying a new frame or cranks, and where are you even getting those values the nicest frame & cranks I could think of wanting (soundwave and those newer eclat cranks) are cheaper than that...but not once ... more »
I love the presumptuousness of the title I gave this thread a year ago, lol I've come to the realization a bike, like a garden, is constant work-in-progress, it's never 'done' it can only be done for a brief period and then it evolves again.. So it's

I'm just still confused how to safely remove a bearing, I'd really not have to ride an hour to the closest lbc that'd have loose bearing cartridges, *but* I have great bearings in a hub here I can use - I just have it sitting here on the table and I ... more »
It's not over-thinking it, as I've got a bad case of tight- & loose- chain, based on where my pedals are (ie my sprocket's wrong) So I checked it on a table and it's not perfectly flat, ergo time for a new sprocket anyways! I'm more anal about my ... more »
Shit, didn't even consider my chainline being pulled-out further, I already have a problem with that - I recently got redline 'flight' cranks, and the spindle bolts will bottom-out in the spindle before the cranks are fully on, unless I use two spacers ... more »
Wait can you explain what you mean about putting dimples in your frame for chainline? If I got a 27t guard sprocket, and it was just a mm off from fitting, I'd certainly take the grinder to my chainstay and nick a bit out
And I want the guard ...

When you say 'go in correctly', is there something I should know or do you just mean to make sure they're fully seated? And how would you recommend I safely get the bearing cartridge out of my 'donor driver'? (have a kink wheel I'll be taking the bearings ... more »
I have a kink hub that's in great shape, my intent was to take a bearing out of that to put into my current driver, how would you recommend removing a bearing from a driver? I'm looking at it right now and I know I can *tear* it out but don't know how ... more »
My wheel is occasionally 'biting' and causing my pedals to turn when I'm coasting (and have my feet off the pedals), and I'm having a lot of trouble diagnosing it (seems heavily, maybe entirely, dependent upon the tightness of the 'cone nuts' or the ... more »

I grind on my right side, and I'm a bitch about hurting my bike if preventable so I've got hub guards, I finally built a LHD wheel and got that all setup, and am now thinking the only thing missing is a guard sprocket. It looked like the only way for ... more »

Why do you say that re height? Right now, I like the grip-height i get from my 25mm rise stem with 9" bars - when I choose my new bars, I'm just going to buy my stem to match that! Or you just like your stem adn don't wanna swap it?
thanks will chekc them out (are they a legit brand, 'flybikes'? Never heard of them..)
Ok so I cracked my stem and, while looking for new stem, decided I should finally pick my 'final' bars before choosing appropriate stem. So I have vultus (3deg up, 10deg back) and lumberjack bars (1deg up, 12deg back), and have decided I want something ... more »

I just got a 20-pack of stickers on ebay ($5 shipped from lithuania, gotta love some parts of globalization eh?) of 20 random brands, all standard white (appropriate fonts, real professional stuff) I'll admit, I'm dying to put that CULT sticker on my ... more »
