Thanks man that's good stuff
Minimum PSI being problematic due to tire selection?! VERY glad you brought that up, it's something I've wondered and always forget to ask! Sometimes tires have 'minimum psi', which I never understood - max-psi makes sense, but minimum? My current tires ... more »
What other tires can you compare them to? I'd have to double-check but I think those had an impressively light weight (like duo's, for instance DUO HSL's in 2.4, as a set, would save me almost a pound - a pound of rolling-weight at the outer-edge of ... more »
apologies, brevity isn't natural to me and I forget to go back and edit/shorten :/ The T1's got a lot of love in another tire thread I'd made, and when comparing their weight to other similar tires they're significantly heavier, I'd been interested to ... more »
That's funny, I'd seen those and thought they looked very cool aesthetically (at the time, am now a huge fan of slicks and the slicker-the-better, aesthetically) but at first I thought they'd last because of how thick that rubber was, but in reality ... more »
wax huh? am surprised that didn't even cross my mind, I'm imagining you mean car wax right? Have you done this more than once on tan gumwalls with success? If so I'd really like to know which specific wax you used so I can be sure to get the right product!
I think my bike looked better when it was full black (excepting the purple sprocket and oil-slick chain), the first pic in this album just looks better than what I've got now IMO http://imgur.com/a/kTeHL Still have that black United SU2 frame (21") but
I'm afraid of my self-control when I look at frames (Cult's 'Too Short'? DROOOOL!!), last thing I need is to be goaded into buying new ;D (especially when I'm finally content that my bike is done / almost done!
Interesting to know thank you!! This is my 2nd set of them (both 9" vultus, the first were black and cut to ~26.25", never noticed this although I'd never looked, hell I didn't notice it in these chrome ones for many months) While they may be known for ... more »
they're 2-piece bars (chrome shadow vultus 9" bars cut to 27.0" wide; bars are cromo and butted, and I've heard them referred to as 'light bars' although when I compare them on danscomp they don't seem particularly light/heavy compared to other 9" bars) ... more »
Yeah gotta love empire!! Can you tell that on the other stay (seat stay) above it that the gold is the Animal logo? For everyone who's unaware, Empire is one of the companies that will allow you to mail them a self-addressed, stamped envelope to them
Oh and it's now got a brand-new (well 2-3wks at this point) 10t odyssey driver, and I've built the chain in-place on the sprocket using the KMC half-link to reduce my CS from 13.75" to 13.5" :D Re pedals, yes they're facing backwards (regular pedals ... more »
gave up on the idea of polished-steel forks and painted them black, swapped my slightly-worn rear pleg to the front so I've got that nice quasi-worn flatness up front, and a relatively fresh pleg on the back now
I love plastic
Just to be clear these are quasi-new bars, I mean maybe 1-1.5yrs old, the chrome is intact everywhere except the spots where my thumbs go (I usually ride with my thumbs over the bars not under), and I don't do big drops or beat on my bike, also I weigh ... more »
Sundaybmxrr- I hope that's the case with some of my other pedals, as my first pair I attempted it on was *not* a double nut setup, it was merely a single nut at the end of a cromo spindle (there was a nut, a spacer and two sealed bearing cartridges) ... more »
It was the compression nut, for some reason it was moving when I tightened the wheel in....left it ~1/16th turn looser before re-tightening the axle nuts and all was well, am in love with this new driver I've ridden 2nd-hand drivers and wheels for so ... more »
I know I'm long-winded when I write so I'm guessing you didn't read my whole post but yeah it's a LHD driver lol, the pawls are catching beautifully (in fact I'm f'ing in love with the noise of them, mmmm fresh pawls bangin that hub w/ minimal grease ... more »
