Here is a video showing my old and new jumps on the track. This was a "race track" built by a local MTB enthusiast, and before that, it was an 8 pack (or two?) built by my friends which "got too big for safety". The race track was a poorly executed plan, with good intentions but a complete lack of maintenance. We had a few one hitters that were super fun here and there before 2014, but I missed that Oregon flow that I was so lucky to grow up with. So we set off on our own accord, rallying the troops, with Dreamland structures in my mind. Bit by bit, we take chunks of the track and try to incorporate big jumps with the original track layout. Focusing on fluidity, high speeds, and getting your groove on, this spot will make your heart jump out of your chest. The first few clips are from 2015, but then we got plowed. Now, we have a summer of rebuild in 2017, the rest of the clips are from that time. The last clip is the last dig day of 2017. I'd like to make a shoutout to everybody who helps keep up the jumps. Constructing new features, always. Alaska BMX

Looking good, Dave! Is that your kid in the photo? I always wished to have something like that at my own house. I'm in my mid 20's now, my goal is to have a house of my own by 30, covered in obstacles (reminiscent of Matt Beringer's old house). Would ... more »

My trails were located in the East Range, which is a military training ground. After multiple run-ins with MP's and having humvee's pointing 30 cal. machine guns, I was forced to leave this spot in my memory bank. I did a lot of digging at The Garden, ... more »

the last photo I posted here was just before I moved from Alaska for a couple years. I came back to find that my set had been plowed. Wtf?! They had no right, we worked on them for two summers. Whatever,"grab some tools and quit whining" I told myself.

That was a good article. Steve Crandall seems like a pretty smart guy. I am a young trail boss. I'm nomadic by nature, establishing spots everywhere I go. It's not always dialed, finding a good spot is not easy at all.. But when it comes down to it, breaking ground and putting in work is relatively easy. But dudes my age are hard pressed to ride off a roof to flat. So I find myself digging alone.

Thank you! Where are you from? I have never worked with this stuff so it's all trial and error for me. I'm from Oregon and I'm used to sandy dirt. The property is huge. It is a tropical rain forest. But it's not far from civilization at all. Yeah I've ... more »

The problem with trails, is they're always going to be on somebody's property. I have photos of my broken ground at a spot I found today. I'm excited to give the layout a try and see what I can make of it. Nothing but dirt, imagination, and lots of inspiration.
