An interesting thing too factor in here gentlemen, is "relative proportions". For example, go to Ridebmx.com's site and checkout their bike check section. It lists the pros height and weight and bike dimensions. I was personally surprised to find out ... more »

I don't remember what it was, it was like 30 years ago. I have no memory whatsoever what any sticker said, but I remember it was all chrome, and it was fucking enormous! (Keep in mind I was like 3 or 4.) I had my dad lower the seat and angle back the ... more »

I'm happy that the BMX industry is finally putting out big kid sized bikes. The whole time I was growing up BMX bikes were just BMX bikes. They were all small. I hated the 90's when every bike had 6 or 7 inch bars with no upsweep or backsweep. I have ... more »

Added reply in a thread do you need a race frame for racing 1/24/2011 8:44 PM

I'm surprised no one has mentioned gearing ratios yet. One of the most glaring differences between race bikes and freestyle bikes to me would be the gearing. A lot of freestyle bikes run 25/9 or 28/9 whereas race bikes run a 33/14(?). Just look at the ... more »

I think it depends on your style. If you do a lot of tailwhipsand spin tricks a shorter bike is the way to go, but if you want to go fast and big then a little bit more length might help stabilize you out. I think weight is a factor that gets overlooked ... more »

I think the Cult OS in chrome is possibly the single most beautiful frame I've ever seen. But then I'm a sucker for chrome.

I personally like the raw finish, seems like a good all around frame. I only like frames with a 74.5 head tube angle, 75 feels too squirelly at high speeds to me. But then I might just need a longer frame.....BMX Plus magazine gave the BSD Forever frame ... more »

I hear you man, I'm 6ft 200lbs and I have been eyeballing the S&M perfect tens too. I currently have 8inch bars and I feel kind of cramped. Once I get my tax returns I want to buy some new bars and hopefully a new frame. I'm thinking I'll either ... more »

I was thinking of getting that frame in chrome, what do you think of the frame so far? I like Cult's, but I'm hesitant because I hear they don't hold up well.

What is it with you and animal butts Dave? Hahahahaha! Sadly my ears are so big I no longer get "cat butt" when I take my plugs out my ears dangle in the breeze. It's not a pretty sight. I never leave the house without plugs in. I agree that most DK ... more »

Just keep in mind man, that once you have plugs there is no going back. Sure you can take them out and the holes will shrink down, but not completely. Half inch is considered the point of no return. Once your ears are over half inch even if you take ... more »

As for stretched ears holding you back from getting a job, it can sadly be pretty true. Depends on where you live and what kind of energy you carry. I've worked for companies that had strict no visible tattoos or piercings policies, but they hired me ... more »

inch and a half! took about ten years but it was worth it. The only time it sucks is when I'm trying to put a helmet on. My ears are always getting caught in the straps, and wearing a fullface sucks because it smooshes my ears against my head. I never ... more »

I'm 33 and I still ride. I'm personally psyched about the current state of BMX, the bikes are nicer, and the amount of talent out there is fucking nuts! I've seen tricks in the last month that have blown my mind, peope couldn't have imagined this shit ... more »

What's a good complete for big guys? I can't bring myself to ride a cruiser, I'd feel like I was giving up. Maybe when I'm older, but I feel too young to ride a cruiser. Then again, cruisers are faster, hill bombing would be funner on a 24in cruiser...... ... more »

Like what? Most complete bikes are too small for me, and building up a bike would cost a lot. Not sure what to do, I was thinking about a cult bad boy, dk passport or s&m hoder frames, (all in 21 in TT) maybe some tall bars, 9inch to 10 inch. S&M ... more »
