You'll get used to the weight pretty fast. I tossed front brakes and an Odyssey fork from like 08 on a while back. Good times. May or may not stay on, we shall see.

Even when I rode constantly (several hours daily) Odi Longnecks always had the longest life for me. I won't get anything else at this time.

You can literally live off nothing but potatoes, but that doesn't mean it is a good thing.

The way I look at it, is if you or your kid is working on becoming a paid/sponsored rider who is winning everything, definitely worth the investment for the 1/4+ lb weight savings, but if your kid is just having fun and not worried much about results, ... more »

Cute, you edited your post to try to include a jab at me, one that doesn't really work. I'm the first to admit my bike isn't the main thing in my life anymore. My wife, kids and home are all more important to me. You got nothing and you know it. But ... more »

The US does have things like state aid insurance-a buddy of mine had it when he was in college and it covered his ankle surgery and the plate removal like a year later. He paid like 4 bucks a month for it. I know other folks who are super low income ... more »

Remember that time you said you rode like 13 hours a day, and I calculated approximate miles you put in, and it was complete bullshit because logic proved you to be a moron? Hop on your bike and ride. You have two wheels and allegedly ride more than ... more »

Happening right now with a hardtail MTB. I scored a late 90's Klein Pulse Comp frame, fork, bars, headset, BB, Crank and Seatpost for free, and scored a full Deore 2x10 drivetrain for $40 bucks. Slowly working on getting it done over time is killing ... more »

If your kid is over the max weight on the SLs, then to keep things light, you would want to go with rims that can handle it for safety. Carbon also tends to dampen vibration better, so the ride can be smoother. Some cases they are a tad more aerodynamic, ... more »

Not sure I would take it that way, based on his history on here, but you do you. (Also unsure if you are being sarcastic) Ultimately the US did a really piss-poor job mitigating this whole situation. Had we been more cautious with travelers from everywhere ... more »

I really don't understand your thinking. But then again, you have proven your ignorance in so many ways that it really isn't THAT surprising you would bring it up like this. Go ride your bike and enjoy low traffic and many more open street spots.

I've run both several times, and the best advice I can give is to just give it time and practice. The balance etc is a tad different when you have to back pedal, and you have to be conscious of your foot position. Take your time and have fun with it. ... more »
