Anyone can buy forks with mounts and brake....... Yes lots of people are doing combos. But that’s the point. Not many are doing anything else. Grind to bar out? Seen it plenty of times. Every time I watch an edit, or go to my local. I’d rather see something ... more »

It’s a changing of the times. Everyone craves instant satisfaction, and expects something new all the time. Which is partly why instagram is more popular than dvd releases too

Yet you’re moaning about someone wanting a front brake on his kids bike? If there were loads of kids at every skatepark with front and rear brakes, doing loads of brake tricks, I’d agree. But I’d bet 90% of riders now can’t even do a fufanu. I can’t ... more »

Set your bike up how you want. Dave’s right about bmx being boring. It needs more diversity. However, brakeless is hardly a trend. There’s been brakeless riders for longer than most people that ride now have been alive.

Just over 2 months and it still hurts to walk a lot of the time. It seems I messed my tendons up pretty bad, and a possible fracture ( still waiting for results of the x ray I had last week). I can’t see me riding for another month at least. It just ... more »

Added reply in a thread Back wheel slammed at 13.5 with 28/9 9/11/2019 11:03 PM

100% 28 9 sits at 13.5 with a half link. I’ve ran it on 4 different frames Maybe your chain needs to bed in a bit then. Ride up a steep hill a couple of times

Added reply in a thread Back wheel slammed at 13.5 with 28/9 9/11/2019 3:35 PM

Yep, 28 9 is pretty much slammed at 13.5. It’s the reason I got 13.3 cs, so I can have my wheel at 13.5 and not be slammed. Sounds like your driver and/or chain are worn

Never ever heard of anyone using cement to build trails. I can’t think of any well known trails that have cement in them. Literally give em a sweep, a bit of water from a watering can, and a pat down and they’re ready to go. Building good jumps takes ... more »

That frame isn’t brakeless 😊 it has removable mounts, and one of the sites I looked at says they supply the mounts. The steeper head angle means the front end will be twitchier, which means you can balance on the front wheel easier, but turning is a ... more »

Material fatigues over time. That’s why lifetime warranty is rare. The expected life of a steel frame is about 7 years in general cycling terms. Yeah those frames aren’t made as well, but they also take a hell of a lot less abuse. A frame can last a ... more »

I had 28-9 with 165s, felt fine to me. Kind of more noticeable when trying to ride up a steep hill but that’s it. I could never go smaller than 28 with a 9t driver now, it feels like you don’t go anywhere. And I’d still have 165’s if they had them in ... more »

I usually do a few half arsed attempts to see how it goes. Then start trying and committing. But I don’t really try anything new that’s scary any more. Usually just weird stuff

Added reply in a thread Dirt Jump bike or 20in BMX bike best option for me? 9/10/2019 11:14 AM

Jump bikes handle like shit for everything other than jumps. Even then they’re slow and sluggish compared to a bmx. If you really want bigger wheels look at street mtb style. Which is closer to bmx, but imo still not really worth it

Some of those links are wrong, but the Sunday would probably get my vote. Out of the links that work, steer clear of the diamonback and redline. The mongoose L100 isn’t a bad bike at all for the money. But they cheaped out on a few parts that you’d probably ... more »

21” will probably be good, a vast improvement over what you have at least. Getting specific comes down to personal preference though. What do you mean padless? The only thing that concerns me about that frame is the steep head angle. But you might like ... more »

Most dropouts are laser cut, so not being cnc’d isn't anything to worry about. I’d say 2 years is about as long as you should really ride any frame. But I’d like to see where it actually states it’ll only last 2 years. Pick whichever has the geometry ... more »
