It's the little things that gets you. Bailing from airing a 6 foot quarter to flat no problem though. Or better yet falling from a 6 foot quarter to your back flat from a double peg stall.

If they are Tennis shoes you have to play Tennis in them to get them broke in. There really isn't any other way.

No rush buying a bike right now anyway. The weather here in the midwest just keeps you inside majority of the time anyways. Yesterday it was freezing rain in the morning. Then by the afternoon it was like 35 degrees but everything was super wet out. ... more »

Added reply in a thread Mongoose L100 or L500? 1/26/2020 11:01 PM

L100. I'd say it's going to be easier learning to ride on a cassette rear wheel. That's mainly the biggest difference between the two. L500 has the freecoaster, and half link chain. Other than that they look close to the same bike.

I loved how quiet my freecoaster was when I got my complete but I just couldn't get used to it. It drove me nuts having that slack. With the spokes coming loose on my oem fit rear wheel I went back to cassette. I will probably give it a shot again later ... more »

Don't worry I spent some serious time looking through Albes and Empire looking at prices and specs of completes. What about the Kink Gap XL? Seems to be in the price range.

Added reply in a thread Chain tight and loose 1/20/2020 6:20 PM

Not sure if it's because I just put a new chain, 28t sprocket, and cranks on my frame but I have a slightly loose then tight chain too. Seems like my old bike did the same thing back in the day with the big ass 5/16 Chain.

Added reply in a thread Anyone structure their practice? 1/20/2020 6:04 PM

Right now it's if I'm lucky 2 to 3 hours on the weekends and if I'm really really wanting to ride bad I haul ass to a small skatepark after work to ride for 30 minutes before it get's dark. All of this right now in the cold and pending rain/snow. And ... more »

Anyone ever rode 7" rise bars on a 35lb bike. I used to ride the kink low life bars back in the day. Cut down stupid short. Talk about a world of difference from mid school to now. I remember buying a set of Slam bars which I believe were 8" rise or ... more »

Added reply in a thread How do these work? 1/19/2020 11:28 PM

I believe the single cable runs through both those hook ends somehow but it looks like a part is missing. Then the pads bolt to the open slots in the middle. Then the open holes at the ends there are for your brake mounts.

Makes senses. Just something I don't believe I have ever seen anyone ever do. The cable routed on the left side of the frame along with the lever makes it even stranger looking.
