Your setups are always dialed man. How does this compare to your BTM? I am looking for something with a shorter rear end, and a low BB seems to be the key.

Thanks! The thing I notice is the lower BB keeps the frame feeling stable even with the shorter rear end. It’s pretty nimble but does not feel like it wants to loop out and the 28mm offset forks and 170mm cranks definitely complement the frame geometry well. Compared to the BTM it feels more stable with rear tire tricks and is a much stiffer feeling frame.

Thanks for the feedback Sean. I like the Kink Contender but not sure how I feel about a ovalized top tube. Cult Foley is super clean but no brake mounts. Stranger Alley Cat V2 is nice and it would support Eric L....but I'm not sure about Stranger as a brand. There are so many good options and I think WTP are dropping their 2021 stuff soon.

I love the look of the 8.5" bars with the 5" HT.

I've always wondered why the small bars/ stem crowd never went with the taller HT length... It just means you can run even smaller bars/ stems. lol

The one thing I’m weirdly obsessive over is when the box on a set of bars looks massive or tiny and I think these look proportionate on the bike with the “normal” height top load. Some of the 9’s I tried looked disproportionately bigger than the frame even when cut a bit and the riding position felt like I was pushing a shopping cart lol

Wow, that's a pretty big change.

Long story short had a run-in with a car that ended up with the custom being totaled (I'm 100% fine). After some annoyance with the past few builds, I wanted to build something a little different up that caters more to my predominantly street/park riding but is not a tech street frame or a trails frame and the Soundwave stuck out to me. It's a super interesting frame since its geometry is fairly responsive but is not "twitchy" like newer frames tend to be and the 11.5" bb keeps it feeling super stable. Most of the changes are due to catering the build to the frame (shorter offset fork to partner with the shorter rear end, 170mm cranks to go with the lower bb, 8.5" bars to offset the 5" long 75* ht and keep my bars in exactly the same place height-wise as the 9's were on my other bike). This is the first Sunday I've ever owned and I'm pretty stoked on it thus far haha.

Thanks! I rode Bob bars for years until my back issue got worse and I've bopped around trying different bars but never liked anything as much. I'm stoked the Ratkid bars give me the exact same feel as the Bobs and with the 5" HT I lost no front end height downsizing from 9" rise bars and got to keep my slammed stem (I'm super OCD about running 0 spacers). Maybe its the bar geometry or maybe its a placebo but I always felt like I could hop higher and have more control with the Bob bars and I regained that feeling with the Ratkid bars so thats probably the biggest win comparing bike over bike hahaha
