You've got the right idea, but you're going to have to get a punch. Put the frame down on the ground too so it's nice and solid. Maybe prop it up on some wood to be safe. Had to do exactly this in the shop the other day. We tried with a punch, then tried ... more »

Added reply in a thread Can you unlace your wheel and use the old rim 8/6/2015 12:10 AM

Yeah, we do this all the time. As long as the rim isn't majorly bent it's fine. With that said - there definitely is a point when you just need a new rim. Usually after we true one of the team guys rims 5 or 6 times it's just time for a new one.

If the number the spoke length calculator is giving you is correct, you should round down and do 188 for sure.

You don't need the warranty card if you bought it in Canada. Not sure what the procedure is if you bought it in the US but I can understand wanting it up on the wall.

A bit, but you won't die. You'd probably find a 20.5 or 20.75" frame to be a little bit more maneuverable.

Added reply in a thread Do i have a single or double wall rim. Two questions in one. 7/17/2015 4:05 PM

Yeah, it's a fork off a complete bike. Most likely it has a chromoly steerer with hi-tensile legs. As long as it is not bent or cracked it will be good to ride. An aftermarket fork will be stronger / lighter.

Added reply in a thread looking for a bike for my son 7/16/2015 2:21 PM

For a 3 year old a push bike is a better idea. He can learn to balance and get the basics down before stepping up to pedals. There's lot's of push bikes coming out from BMX brands like United, Kink, Verde, etc, they're all very similar and very high ... more »

Added reply in a thread Do i have a single or double wall rim. Two questions in one. 7/16/2015 2:17 PM

Rim is a single wall. There is definitely only a "single" wall there, not two. Forks look like stock forks off a lower level complete. If you take a picture of the fork steerer that will narrow it down. If it's a 2-pc steerer it's definitely a stock ... more »

If you're grinding on your drive side with no hub guard another thing you should check is if there's any damage to the inside of the hub that's causing the driver to get stuck instead of roll smoothly.

The first thing I would upgrade are the tires. Best bang for your buck. Also that seat / seat post and the pedals.

Added reply in a thread Question regarding frames 7/3/2015 2:28 PM

Your frame looks like a 2013 Fit complete by the way. You could narrow it down by measuring the top tube and that would give you a good idea what level it is by comparing what was available that year.

Added reply in a thread Question regarding frames 7/3/2015 2:27 PM

An aftermarket frame will have all the extra features like heat treatment and potentially other things like invest cast parts, integrated chain tensioners and details that you may not get on a complete frame. Another big difference is the warranty. Companies ... more »

EVO IIs have less clearance than some other brake designs. Three brakes that I've know to work well with 2.4 tires are the Demolition Vulcans, Odyssey Springfields and the Kink Desist brakes.

The only thing about a hitch rack on a Civic is that it will likely rub the ground when you are coming off any type of steep-ish incline.
