Haha thx man. I am probably going to go with the battles eventually though, just because pricing. Apparently Tarheel blue wasn’t a popular color and some spots (including Merritt) had been dropping price to liquidate inventory.

I feel like I have been chasing Cyan Ribcages ever since I sold mine...but between the Tarheel Battles and the new Cyan Bondis, might be a good substitute when I get around to it.

That sounds like a solid plan. If you want any recs, I can say enough good things about Federal Stances

I feel like I reference Powers BMX so much folks are going to think I’m the hype man...but check out the preowned section of their website. You can buy pre owned chains by the half-link/full-link for like $0.20 each.

I think grinding/not grinding is more of a function of which spots you choose to ride. For the past year working from home, it seems like I am never off the clock...and I lead strictly international sales regions, which means the clock never stops. Assuming ... more »

You joke, but I actually inventory my build by part in a spreadsheet. Probably because I spend a lot of time on my laptop anyway and it’s a fun distraction from doing actual work...or maybe I’m just a damn nerd.

When I was getting back into BMX several years ago I bought a Hoffman complete, prior to the revamping of their product line. Hoffman had always been top of the line in the 90s so I just went with the brand. Don’t remember the name of the complete but ... more »

This is a really good point and probably the reason why you see some of the older riders less concerned with weight. The new school gear is the shit. It is high quality, well engineered, with geometry developed/improved for specific riding styles. A ... more »

I’m pretty much at the point where I ride pegless unless I am going to our township park...which only has a few rails. Even then, there are other things I’d rather try than just grinding. Had to pick something up at my daughter’s school today and seeing ... more »

Just came back from my local “park”. Feels great riding in the NE now that the weather is sweet. I’m riding a much shorter CS now and it feels like I am relearning how to bunny hop. Not the mechanics, but the timing, considering that if I pull back the ... more »

That’s funny...I ride a 26mm Widemouth but was REALLY tempted to buy a chrome 32, just because they look so fly and are hard to find

I’d recommend...they just feel so good. BTW, the “Federal” on the inside of the rim is not like a standard decal. It has like another coating so it doesn’t look so much like a sticker and easily peel off...kind of like the battle rims.

Steerer tube is the distance between the crown race and the fork top cap. The stem attaches to the top 30mm of the steerer tube (+/- 2 or 3 mm depending on brand). The taller your steerer tube, the higher your stem is going to be.
