BMX Park Confirmed for 2020 Olympics

It's official - BMX Park is headed to the 2020 Olympic Games in Toyko, Japan.

FISE's partnership with the UCI was initially formed with this goal in mind. Members of the Olympic Committee attended FISE in Montpellier, France and confirmed the addition earlier today at a meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The next few years are going to be pretty wild...

What are the riders saying about this? Here are thoughts from Logan Martin and Daniel Dhers, last years top two overall finishers in the FISE World Series -

"I think having freestyle BMX in the olympics will be awesome. Growing up watching The Olympics was cool and now being in a sport that is in the olympics is insane! It will help the sport grow, I believe." - Logan Martin

"The Olympics is the next step for the development of our sport. No other event in the world gets as much as attention and this will help riders from all around the world to have access to better parks, events, and more." - Daniel Dhers

This big news obviously leads to a number of questions...

How can riders qualify?

How many riders will be able to qualify?

Who designs the course?

How does this effect sponsorships?

Will riders be representing themselves as individuals or their countries?

Stay tuned to We'll be digging into all of this and will keep you posted as more information becomes available!
