It was announced last week that Ryan "Biz" Jordan had parted ways with longtime bike sponsor Volume. It was announced today that Biz has found a new home on Verde. We asked Biz a few questions about this big change and got the rundown on his new bike. Take a look below.
PhotoSo Volume to Verde, huh? How'd this come about?
Since my first sponsor in 1999, Huffy, I've always worked with Steve (Buddendeck), Cory (Muth), and Lou (Caparelli). Steve and Cory did the ads and Lou was my TM. After Huffy I was on Schwinn and Lou was my TM again, while Steve and Cory did pretty much the same thing they did for Huffy. When Schwinn went bankrupt, Steve was running the program over at DK and he got me on the team. When the opportunity to ride for Verde came up, I was psyched to be able to ride for those guys again. Leaving Volume was a really tough decision for me because I was on for so long and everyone over there is awesome, but Verde just felt right for me.

How many years were you actually a part of the Volume team for?
I was on for one year in 2000, then the Schwinn offer came to me and I couldn't turn it down. I was back on Volume in 2005.

Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to as a part of the Verde team?
Working with everyone over there again and doing trips with the crew. They have all been friends of mine for a long time now. Will Stroud is the TM and I have been doing stuff with him for just about equally as long, so I'm psyched he's over there too.

Any bad blood with Volume?

No. There's no bad blood on either end. I'm still a part of things over there because I'm on Demolition. We're still all good friends.

Any idea what's happening with your signature frame?
The frame was pretty much all sold out. They'll just discontinue it.

Do you have a signature frame or any signature parts in the works with Verde yet?

I'll have a signature frame and bars soon.

Have you met the rest of the Verde team yet? What do you think of them?
Yeah, I have met them all and they are all real chill guys. Trips will be fun for sure.

What's next for you?
Demolition video premiere on the 16th, a big DC tour in May, and a lot of other fun stuff too I'm sure.

Any closing comments?
Thanks to Steve, Cory, and everyone at Verde for the new opportunity and Brian, La, and everyone at Volume for everything you guys have done for me over the years.

Here are a few words from the dudes at Verde about Biz joining the team -

"Everyone at Greenhouse is excited to welcome Biz to the Verde family.  Biz has been a longtime friend of ours and we are excited to work on some cool projects with him this year.  His sense of humor is on another level, and that always makes for good times on trips."

We look forward to seeing what Biz and Verde have in the works in the near future.
