The Brace Jams have been going on in New England for a few years now, set up as a kick-ass way of helping local rider Justin Brace who is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. This year they were held at Rye Airfield and had some major help from companies like DK, Macneil, Hoffman, and got a big push from the local Credence Bikes crew and Eastern Boarder.  There were a handful of small contests going on throughout the night to score some goodies from the sponsors and Josh Heino on the mic all night talking a fair amount of crap making everyone laugh.

Stand outs from the contest were Tim Roxbeurgh doing a feeble-grind-to-whip out on a decent-sized ledge for the win in the best grind comp, Brandon Christie killing himself on front-flips for the box jump comp (and still pulling clean 720s and 3-whips), a rider who's name I don't know pulling a clean barspin-to-wallride-to-barspin, and Brian Hunt doing a wallride over someone doing a wallride—as well as shutting down the eight-foot quarter towards the end of the night.

This was the first Brace Jam I've been to but if they’re all like this, I'm hoping to make it to a lot more in the future. Amazing riding, good attitudes on most of the people, and all the proceeds went to benefit Brace. Thanks to Eastern Boarder, Rye Airfield, Credence Bikes, all the companies that sent in products, and everyone who made it out to ride and have a good time, I'm sure it meant a lot to Brace and his family.
