I'm interested in getting a 22 bmx bike. After about 10 years off of a bmx bike, I got a bike last year to ride the local skatepark (bowls and transitions) and the local pump tracks. After so much time off of a 20" bike, it feels super squirrelly, especially coming off of my mountain bikes. I love the idea of the 22 (bigger wheels, more stable); however, everything I have ever read talks about them as being for tall people (6 feet or taller). I am barely 5'8", and am currently riding a 20.75 frame with 9" bars; anybody my size riding a 22?

Yes, there definitely are. I think 22" wheels are not just for tall people, in the same way that mountain bikes aren't.

I actually have two 22"s, one with a 21.8" top tube and a custom STOUT with a 21" top tube. Most every other 22" out there is 21.5" minimum.

It's hard to explain, though, but there is a bump-up in top tube length to correspond with wheel size. Like, you don't actually want the same tt length on a 24" as on your 20". A 21"tt is considered a Large 20. But, a 21" would be Short 24". On Dirt Jump MTB 26"s, 21.5"tt is considered a Small. So, similarly, I think a 21.5"tt 22" corresponds roughly with a 21"tt 20.

Pepper is like 5'6" or so:

Thanks for the info. A lot of the 22 bikes I've seen have 22" or longer top tubes; I'm looking for something a little shorter. I know S and M make an ATF with a 21.6 top tube, that's probably what I would get.

Also, the Faction Amero frame has a 21.5"tt.
