Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but had a few questions to pose. I've searched this forum and elsewhere and feel like I'm closer to a decision but wanted to sound you all out.

I'm 38 and 6'1 and am wanting to get back to bmx after a looong hiatus. Used to race and freestyle when I was a kid. Wanting to go easy and maybe start with a cruiser first and then maybe consider something to throw around and build some skill with later on.

Thinking of 24 (Sunday model C) , 26 (OM flyer, Cult Devotion) or even 29 (big ripper), but not sure which way to jump. Probably will use mostly for cruising the streets and taking the odd jump.

What do you think?
Thanks!

I’d go with Sunday Model C but if you’re after a nice 26er....Fairdale Taj should be on that list!

Ooh, looks excellent! I think this will be hard to find in Australia, though. Will do some sleuthing..

Try Lux BMX, they seem to have a good selection of stuff in Oz. I don’t know about the Cult Devotion but it looks sweet!

I was looking 26” too (2018 Stolen Zeke XLT) but asked the same question as you did. It was suggested to look towards a 22” top tube frame. It gives us tall guys a little more room, but should be easier to control for those random jumps you want to hit. The Fit BF22 is what I’m looking at, which also has an adjustable seat if you just want to cruise. Good luck!

Fit Aitken 26 is another good Fit option. Good luck and let us know how you get on cool

Oooh I got it! A shiny new Cult Devotion 2017 and it's glorious! So much fun! Tried some smaller bikes today too. Great bikes, but maybe for a little down the track. This suits me well. Photo

I really like that Cult you bought, was wondering how it's working out? Was thinking about how this would hold up in a park, with some pegs for grinding?

Yeah, that Cult is nice. I like it.

I don't ride a BMX bike to look cool to others, I do it because it's fun and never do I think "Boy I sure am cool on my BMX bike."

I would think it would be a bit more difficult since the axles are higher up but Im sure it would do the job.

Some parks I've been to have like a single ledge that is barely tall enough for a 20" with pegs. I guess it more or less depends on the obstacles available to you.
