Have been out of bmx for some 10 years I'm 28. Been riding mtb's now for most that time currently ride a 26 inch all mountain ibis and 29er xc.... Anyways really want to build up a S&m atf street dirt park bike to mess around on.

Can't decide what would be best I recently got on a 20inch bike and felt like a clown on a mini bike. A lot of it I guess is aesthetics as well proportions. I've seen a bunch of 22inch built atfs all look great anybody have pics of them on one to see size to body comparisons

I'm really torn. My main purpose will be to ride around my local streets and just have fun I'm leaning towards a 24 like this

I've owned many 24" cruisers. After riding 22" bikes I will not go back. I'm 6'3 and I dont feel to big for it. I dislike 24" bikes because there to long and bulky.

This is a pic of Keith, the owner of Faction. I believe he is over 6 foot tall.

Here's one of Brandon. I think he's under 6 foot.

Thank you guys I'm still on the fence between the 22 and 24 can't imagine myself being good enough anymore to do anything crazy other than some dirt jumps and maybe some skate parks... At my old age of 28 (feels like 40) and a mortgage payment the craziness is at a low. Gonna buy a frame and fork package soon I'll let u know! Thanks for the time

What's the standard stem length for a street dirt jumper bike these days looking at the s&m enduro 55mm? Gonna start buying all the small parts to build it up with

|

I would say 52-53mm but it all depends. The longer the stem the less responsive the front end will be. I like the feel of a shorter stem.

I'm just gonna throw this in. I'm 6'6 and comfortably ride a 20" Not saying you can, but with a long (21-22" toptube) frame and taller bars (I ride 8.75") you should be able to comfortably roast whatever you want on a 20"

Yeah. Not everyone is comfortable on 20" and most people that get a 22" never go back to smaller wheels. It's like what always gets said in 99.999% of threads about bikes and parts...it's all preference.

Yeah, I'm 5'9. Height has very little to do with the radness.

The 22 is 24 fast, but still gets around tighter bowls, berms and ramps.

And I'm not buying "I just want to ride around the block, and not do anything crazy" cause if that was the case, you would be looking for a Basman or something.

I ride both 22 and 20. I'm riding more 20 then 22 right now, but I'm sure that will change numerous times.

The last 20" bike I rode was a custom standard 250L with a 22" top tube, 9.5" bars, a flipped dld stem for more height with a couple spacers underneath it. Although it was the best feeling 20" bike id ever ridden, it still didnt feel right at 6'4". Im currently on a 22" wheeled custom trail boss with a 23"tt, profile push stem and s&m elevenz bars. I finally for once feel like im on a bike that fits me. Because everything on the entire bike is scaled up 1 or 2"s, it looks like a 20" from far. When im on it, at my size, most people assume it is a 20" until they see their bike next to it. I was a die hard 20" rider my entire life, but after going to 22's ill never go back. If you have any questions at all shoot me an email shoveldickbmx@gmail.com. ive ridden a faction amero, regular and custom holmes, my custom standard and an indust. Ive also tested every 22" tire on the market. I dont think you'll regret the decision one bit. The only people over 6' against 22's are those that arent willing to give them a chance...

odyssey headset and bottom bracket
Raw demolition medial cranks with titanium spin dal
s&m tuff 25t black sprocket
S&m Pivotal logo seat

The build is fun I realized with owning a house and having bills up the wazoo ur courage isn't what it used to be but it'll be fun to ride around and be a kid again hope to find some dirt jumps n ride and watch my buddy Sean Hoskins tear it up
