Hey Guys,
My kids have just started to get into bmx riding and I was thinking, hey, I want to ride again too! So I started looking around at some bikes for myself and have narrowed my decision down to two bikes, the WTP Atlas and the Colony Eclipse, both completes.

The WTP is almost $200 more than the Colony. They seem like pretty similar builds as far as quality. Is the Atlas that much better?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have an Atlas and I'm loving the bike. I got back into riding for the same reason and it's been a great bike to get out with the kids on. I picked it up before the Colony Eclipse was out but I had looked at both the Atlas and the Sunday Model C. I'm 6'-4" so the lower bottom bracket of the Atlas felt much more comfortable to me than the Model C did but the bike is still compact enough for me to put a few little tricks and jump the bike nicely.

The Colony sure does look nice but I don't see the BB height listed anywhere. It looks to be higher in the pictures than the Atlas, I think. That said, if you are shorter than me or you like the feel of riding more on top of a bike than "in" the bike the Colony looks to be a great bargain.

I did also swap out from the stock 7.5" rise bars to some 9.2" rise bars for the Atlas which made the bike more comfortable to me.

Good luck with the decision.

Yeah, i'm 5'9". I would need to research the effect of the height of the bottom bracket in regards to my height. Sounds like the higher BB would be ok for me.

I started out looking at the Model C, but wanted a full cromo frame, which the Model C doesn't offer in a complete.

My eyeballs are telling me to get the Atlas, it's a seriously nice looking bike, (I know, bad reason to buy a bike) but my pocket book is telling me to get the Colony. Lol.

Thanks for you reply Troy.

Dude. That's awesome. It's gonna be 3 years before I even build the ramp.
You must be a god to your kids. My son would freak if he saw me jumping ramps.
Fun times.

I also bought an Atlas lately and am loving it. Just feels great to ride. That said, I still prefer the nimbleness of a 20" when it comes time for tricks.
