most people, me included, have noticed the sale section is sort of a disaster right now. im not a mod, im not pretending to be, nor do i wish to be one. i came on here to buy/sell/trade parts. i personally have only been scammed once and it was my fault because i did a trade and chose to be nice and ship first to some icp-looking retard. i didnt lose out big, but still, i lost parts. keep in my mind, that was a trade, which is obviously the biggest risk for anyone. now heres my pointless two cents.
NEW KIDS
if youre new, everyone is going to be sketchy about you. thats just how it is. long time users definitely DO look at the date you joined and they arent going to take kindly to you acting like you know everything and they arent going to take any of your shit talk or lowball offers or horrendous junky parts trades. as for me, when i see a new user, i automatically assume youre some 15 year old keyboard commando who thinks bmx makes them cool. thats just me though. its worked for me so far. as far as buying, GET SOME FUCKING MONEY. this hobby isnt cheap and you as a buyer are getting a good deal in one way or another. im sure i speak for most sellers when i say that we cringe when we bring a package and see what its going to cost to ship.
PRICES/TRADE
touchy-est issue.
1. if something is stock or junk, nobody wants it. nobody wants to trade for it, nobody wants to hear you try to explain why its good. smart people will know what theyre buying. people will laugh at you if you try to trade garbage.
2. if they say NO TRADES, what in the world makes you type "i know you say no trades but...." right there, i think youre stupid. youre clogging a thread and forcing a seller to come at you and sound like a dick, thus making a seller look bad for "being meannnn". grow up.
3. aftermarket used forks fairly new with OG paint: $75-$90. good aftermarket cranks used: $75-$90. good aftermarket frame, og paint: $150 to $225 depending on the shape. good stems: $30 - $40. these are my rules of thumb. this is what i expect im going to have to pay for nice parts. if youre breaking your balls trying to get someones price down on something like grips or seat post, you have something wrong with you. again, GET SOME MONEY.
4. PAYPAL. PAYPAL. PAYPAL. its foolproof. if you arent comfortable sending as a gift, then dont. just dont badger the seller. MOVE ON. try to find the part elsewhere. as scram said, its about patience. if youre comfortable sending as a gift, then its your ass if something goes wrong. thats not safe. im a hypocrite because i do it, but its with people that i trust 100%. but if the stupid post office loses something and i get fucked, i only have myself to blame.
5. dont ship overseas. this is just me personally, but im not spending $30 to send a stem i sold for $35.
6. SENDING TIRES SUCKS. thats why the prices are high.
SELLERS
im not only going to attack new buyers. if youre a new seller, people want the shit they paid for. if you dont have a box, a way to get to the post office or youre going to mention your mom or dad when you make an excuse as to why you havent shipped yet, then YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS SELLING THINGS ON THE INTERNET. when i spend money, i want my part. i dont want to fuck around trying to contact anyone or check my mailbox only to be bummed out when its empty. that sucks.

if you stole pictures from another forum and are trying to scam someone....i promise that there are enough people who will snuff you out. dont be a moron. taking peoples money like that makes you a 100% piece of shit and you getting your ass kicked on a daily basis isnt enough punishment.

follow them. pictures. prices. info. that isnt hard. if you have to say "pics later" then post the thread later. also if you say "i dont know how to upload pictures" or "computer wont let me upload" well then you need to take a basic computer class and go back to using a flip phone. there are 1000 ways to get pictures on here.
