brakes on chain stays-need help

so on my wtp reason i have a 36 to 14 gearing and my brakes are on the chainstays.
can i run a 25 to 9 gearing and still have brakes?
i dont want to run it brake less so i need some help?
right now when my chain is loose and i land the chain slaps the brakes
i need help

it will rub on it i had the same problem, so i took my brakes off. my friends jsut was hard to pedal and then it like carved out the bolt lol. u can get evo or fly brakes they wont rub i dont think
this isn in the wrong spot though lol but idc.

take apart the side its on and take off springw/casing(the spacer). that brake pad wont bounce back like the other but it will allow sufficient clearance so the chain isnt pimp slappin' your chain stay..Holla!

i did for awhile but it slaps brakes which destroys em, id say ride liek a 30 or something

buy a brake plate for the seatstays and cut the chainstay mounts. I actually have a U-brake plate w/ all hardware if you're interested. $10 shipped

i have a united squad frame and its chainstay mounts but its 25-9 compatible or whatever but it still hit the brakes so i got a 28 10 and the primo brake system and it barely touches
