If you havent checked out my bike checks, you could tell I'm a mid school type. Even my new school bike looks as mid school as possible. What you might not know is that Schwinn is my favorite brand. Well, at least the NON Walmart pre-2002 era.
So, I have 2 other bikes, one I just got yesterday and another I've had a while, and redid it. Now I'm redoing it again.
Bike 1:2000 Schwinn Super Stock 2
Got it stock:

So I kinda decided to completely redo the bike again, using more new school parts including 25/9 gearing.
First, it needs a new paintjob:

It's going to be matched to my car with the leftover paint:

And new decals (red ones)

I will be keeping some of the small parts from the rebuild: Seat, clamp, fork, headset, bar ends, grips, pedals. Will be adding Gyro left over from Failure Mainiac build.
What has been bought for it so far:
Mission transit crank purple

Sunday acid drop bars

I just have to decide on a 25t sprocket, and decide how I'm doing the wheels. I was thinking Profile Mini 3/8 custom wheels on the high side, or buying some Mongoose just for the 9t 3/8 wheels on the low side. Havent decided. Just spent over a grand building my Failure Maniac, and dont need this rebuild to get up there too.
Bike 2, a 1998 Schwinn Pro Stock 3. This is a recall bike, meaning it should have been sent back to the factory to be destroyed due to a manufacturing error that causes these to break at the head tube. Great another bike I cant ride, but must have. I always liked the way it looked, so when one came up for sale, I bought it ASAP.
Now the best part about this build, is that I could use most of the stock pieces from the 2000 Super Stock 2. It came yesterday, and I got it 90% done today:
Look at that CLEAN GLEAM. Ah I love these Schwinns:

The pedals sprocket and seat are hold-overs, I just wanted to see the bike "complete". I have a better seat coming, a Profile Ripsaw 2, and the stock Super Stock pedals that I painted red.

And these to finish it out:

I will update this as I get the last parts on the Pro Stock, and as I build up the Super Stock.
