Copped the Mongoose Mode 900 from Walmart for 200 bucks. I have to say, I'm pretty stoked on this bike. I do intend to change a few things around on the bike, but because I'm such a beginner, I don't want to fool around with it too much too soon.

I do want to say, if you want to pick up this bike, the price on Walmart.com fluctuates all the time. I picked it up for 200 USD and then a few days later the price shot up to 234 USD. Either way, I feel like this bike is a steal, but keep an eye out.

Frame : Mongoose Mode 900, Full chromoly with a 20.5" top tube length
Forks: Mongoose chromoly forks
Bars: Mongoose, 28" wide with an 8.5" rise. Really diggin' these bars.
Stem: Threadless aluminum stem (intending to update this, moves around too much. Stem suggestions welcome.)
Headset: Mongoose integrated
Grips: stock, these came flanged, but I cut off the flanges
Barends: stock
Cranks: 3 piece chromoly
Pedals: stock PC
Sprocket: 25t
Chain: half link, but haven't heard great things about the stock chain. Will probably end up getting a KMC full link to replace.
Brakes: took off the brakes, but it came with a linear cable and aluminum u- brake.
Seat: Mode 900 seat, awfully uncomfortable. Seat suggestions welcome.
Extras: aluminum double wall rims.

If you want pictures of something specific, just let me know.

Don't know how I missed that China sticker, but got rid of it haha!

The Tree Ergo seat looks dope, but hell anything is better than the stock seat.

Thanks for the replies, guys! smile

since ive been asked and a few have asked around. can you get the frame geometry and post it for us.
aswell as the stock weight. just weigh yourself with the bike, and then without, and then subtract, its pretty basic. also tire pressure would be good too. we recommend this bike allot for entry level guys.

i run a polished(self polished to kill the logo) kink super stump pivotal post, with an Odyssey Monogram seat. really nice.

but if you could find a tanned odyssey wrenches pivotal seat that would match your tires pretty well.

The tires are Affix 2.30's with 40PSI. Awful, I know. Will be getting new ones as soon as these wear out, which I'm guessing won't be too long haha.

The cranks at least are sealed mid.

Thanks man! The top tube is 20.5", cranks and BB are sealed. I believe the back hub is the only thing on the bike that isn't sealed. But, hey, I paid 200 bucks for the thing and I'm a complete beginner and I wanted something I could upgrade that still had a decent frame, handlebars, forks, cranks. So far, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

You got yourself a decent beginner bike there, great for the $$$ too.

how are the axles holding up? better picture of them would be awesome if you could, thats so far is my only concern with buying that bike right now

Someone bumped it but if you see this , grab a Sunday Freeze stem . Cheap , and it'll make your bike more comfy , and it'll solve the slipping stem problem .

Hey did your grab the black one (looks like)? The Q/A on the black doesn't specify a 20.5 TT. On the maroon it does, but I'd much rather go with black if it has the same length. How are you still liking the bike?

You're joking when you say "nothing beats a stranger LZ frame" correct? I hope you realize that there are TONS of better frames out there... Any one of S&M's frames would be nicer than an LZ frame. I hope you realize that.

(I'm not hating on LZ, I'm just trying to make a point).
