Frame: Fit TRL1 20.5" tt
Fork: S&M Pitchforks
Bars: Tree Sequoia Bars 8.5" / 28.5" / 12º
Stem: GT AFX
Bar ends: Tree Threaded
Headset: Cane Creek
Cranks: Eastern Electrons 175mm
Sprocket: Fit Key 25t
Pedals: Animal Hamilton PC
Brakes: Tektro
Rims: Alienation Black Sheep
Front tire: Odyssey Path 2.20
Rear tire: Kenda K-Rad 1.85

I call it "The Beast" because even though as a 'complete' Fit's TRL 1 isn't exactly a high rated bike, I'm only using the frame, chain and sprocket, and I beefed it up with stronger parts (some from other bikes, some bought new)..... The most notable features for me are how beefy, strong and stable the bike feels ... *overall*. I am 5'11"/215lbs with long arms so I built a tough front end with large Tree Sequoia bars that have great geo (and I didnt cut them narrower), and most importantly, using my old ultra-beefy S&M Pitchforks. I would swear these must be the most tough ass bmx forks ever made. You should see the thickness of the dropouts if you never saw these! I imagine that will be the LAST thing to break on my bike. lol . . ..

The only things I plan on replacing at this point (or unless something breaks) is a new seat & post, and a new set of rims/spokes/hubs as soon as I can afford to. I'm also considering new cranks. I tried 180mm and really like the torque of those for trail riding over 175mm cranks.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Nice, but I thought it would be more beastly, for your height I thought you would have had a bigger frame taller bars, tl stem and stronger cranks, I'm only 5'6 150lbs with a 20.75 frame, 8.5 bars and a top load stem on the way, your forks are pretty beastly though

Built to last for sure man. Looks like it could take a beating or two lol

Yeah I flipped it. LOL I didnt like the level it was at in normal position and hurt my back surfing so raising it by a hair by flipping the neck drastically improved the comfort of riding the bike. I'm sure I'll get some looks by the younger jaded, trendy, fashionista followers ... but .. IDGAF ;-)

Funny, I've already been shopping a 21"tt frame! .. and also .. as I mentioned in my description, I really want a new set of cranks and plan on getting a stronger pair in 180 instead of 175. Frame and cranks are definitely my next purchases. I LOVE those Tree bars though! ;-)

Any suggestions for cranks? I was always a fan of Profiles and Redline's but I'm old school. Who's puttin out the strongest/lightest cranks these days?

Thanks for the advice, appreciate it!

Yeah it already has taken some lumps and the front end feels invincible! Now I just need longer tt frame, new cranks, and eventually new rims too and it will be even beefier!

Looks good. To further beefen it and add longevity I'd put sealed alloy pedals. I think those would be more appropriate for trail riding.

Yeah I've been eyeing up both those Thunderbolts (Odyssey, right?) Gsport rims. Thanks for suggestion!

If your not on a budget then I would recomend Odyssey Thunderbolt, Eclat Tibia, Profile GDH, Primo Hollowbites, and Stolen team cranks good too.

My 2008 Fit Team Street frame is pretty beefy for it's time being all full chromoly. Presumably better than the good quality 2009 complete frames. It has like a 13.5" chainstay slammed, but I'm sure that's fine as I've learned some decent 3's on it with not many problems, apart from me sucking at spins. The BB isn't concaved like modern frames, and the tubing is great, with the top tube having a teeny sort of a triangle form that was on the Fit Aitken S3.5 to prevent denting, I believe. Also has a nice engraved Fit logo bottom gusset on the down tube.
