I call it "The Beast" because even though as a 'complete' Fit's TRL 1 isn't exactly a high rated bike, I'm only using the frame, chain and sprocket, and I beefed it up with stronger parts (some from other bikes, some bought new)..... The most notable features for me are how beefy, strong and stable the bike feels ... *overall*. I am 5'11"/215lbs with long arms so I built a tough front end with large Tree Sequoia bars that have great geo (and I didnt cut them narrower), and most importantly, using my old ultra-beefy S&M Pitchforks. I would swear these must be the most tough ass bmx forks ever made. You should see the thickness of the dropouts if you never saw these! I imagine that will be the LAST thing to break on my bike. lol . . ..
The only things I plan on replacing at this point (or unless something breaks) is a new seat & post, and a new set of rims/spokes/hubs as soon as I can afford to. I'm also considering new cranks. I tried 180mm and really like the torque of those for trail riding over 175mm cranks.
Comments and suggestions welcome.
