1 pc vs regular steerer tube

I have a 1 piece steerer tube on my fork but was wondering what the difference was between a 1 piece or a 2 piece steerer tube for forks

1 piece are machined from one tube. Whereas with welded the steerer is welded to the crown. 1 piece are a lot stronger

One is one piece and 2 piece has two pieces.

And s/m has an extra third piece of aluminum pressed into the fork in that area to strengthen theirs.

Yeh it’s supposed to stiffen where the crown of the fork meets the steer tube. Extruded aluminum looks like about 2.5 or 3” long....ish
