my fork is for a 14mm axle but I bought a 3/8 hub. I asked someone on here if this:
http://www.profileracing.com/profileracing/estore2/index.php5?productid=334
would work to fix that problem... but I dont think that it is the right thing. So I need to know if this will work and if not, what will if anything....

oh and are there hub guards for the drive side?

Hub guards don't spin...
And buying a conversion kit for $80 is retarded.
Get some new forks or buy them adapters off profile.

uh, you can fix it for 2 dollars. this is the ones you want, they are steel not alluminum. i hve em on my 3/8th profile hub in 14mm forks. you might have to use a file to file em down if they are too fat for the drops. it dosnt have to fit flush, it only need to be filed down so the profile washer can fit flush. also i would go to the hardware store and buy a metal washer to put behind the profile one, or its gonna bend it into the 14mm drops when yo tighten it down.

so you can fix it for liek 3 bucks, or you can buy things form profile for 15.

^^ that's what you want.

Or you could just not use adapters. It'll work fine. I have 14mm forks with a 3/8' female axle with no adapters and it's fine.

oh... well I wish I would have known about that before. I already bought the thing from profile but idk it didnt look like it would work cuz its really small I guess they dont go all the way through the forks then and only fit like halfway in. theres not really a big difference from 14mill and 3/8ths then(i know only 4mm) I thought it would have been a lil thicker.
I know profile is exspensive but I already bought this so it doesnt matter but whats cool is i replaces that washer type thing because that lil black ring in the adapter spins around like the washer that comes with the hub.

|

7/13/2009 10:57 PM

yea those will work, i wouldnt worry that it doenst go all the way to the hub on the inside or whatever.

i would use steel on the back wheel though.

|

7/13/2009 11:00 PM

Its just for my forks, I got the 14mm hub for the back. I feel like a dumbass for just getting this shit and not making sure I got all the right things but i didnt know I was going to get a front wheel when my mom bought me the back so when she told me to get the front too I was like wtf?? and those danscomp guys dont really help you out.
