Hello Vital umm I can do a perfect 180, but the problem is that I do it by lifting both tires at the same time which is not a proper 180
I really want to learn proper 180s and Ive been trying em for 2-3 weeks and everytime I try to do one I lose balance or smth and fall over the back. I carve (not too much) so thats not the problem. I've tried without carving - same result
I got a new 20.75 frame 3 weeks ago. Could that be a problem? Last summer I was able to do 180s properly with a bunny hop by lifting first front tire and then the back tire (on a bank, but its still a 180) and I even did them with a good height (I had a 20.5 back then) + my bars a about 90 degrees to the ground, do you thing pushing them back a bit might help?
Now I cant do a single normal 180 Because I always fall over the back or just do it super lame and dont actually do it (for example I lift the back tire about 2-3 cm from the ground and underspin or smth)
I dont know what is the problem can someone help me pleeease because it is reeeeeeally frustrating
if someone has had a similar experience please share what helped you.
doing em out of a flyout might be good, but I want to learn them flat first
thanks

a bad workman blames his tools and all that, but seriously just go and practice and maybe lean forward more

learn them flyout , so you are familiar with the rotation
i couldnt do them for a really long time until i took em to a flyout and learned them
mine still look like shit, but its better than nothing i guess
also its not the frame.
though it might be harder to learn flat 540's with a 14.5cs race frame, its not a big difference with 180's at all

Dont learn anything flyout IMO. Thats all you will do the trick on if thats how you learn, i suggest turning your bars slightly as you spin, brings it around quicker and keeps you over the bars.

Turn out then crave in pullup front while turning your head and then pick up back and there you go

I am on the same boat as you.

I have been riding for almost 2 years and I put 180s off until one day I was riding with one friend and I did one on a sub-box then I just tried to do one flat straight after.

I did it double wheel but I got it 3rd go.

Now I can do them like 3 times out of 5 and I'm learning to do them legit

I'm gonna need bigger bars

Push out after the back wheel is off the ground. That will level you out. Your levels of swagswag will most likely improve as well.

one guy told me that when I look over my shoulder, I should look down to the ground at the place where I will land. Is that right?

Yeah it's right. Swing your head/shoulders and your bike will follow

when you go to spin keep your head and shoulders turned to get the spin... all it is really... doing flat 180's are fine though i wouldn't fly-out on to one, learning them flat first is just fine.

it's all in your head and shoulders. the more your head and shoulders are turned as your front is up and the back is about to lift off the ground the better it will come around. What I do is compress (bend my arms and move close to my bars) in a very slight carve to get some good pop and if you turn your head and shoulders hard/far enough you will already be spotting your landing as you are in the air. You may be turning your head and shoulders, but if you're not getting full 180 then what you are actually doing is turning your head, but stopping half way. It's all about following through. Force yourself looking behind your as your are coming off the ground. What can only happen is your body will follow. Or else you will land with your spine twisted 180 degrees while your bottom half is still facing forward.
