Will feel a bit like 27-9, only difference is you will be more prone to snapping chains.

How so? I bought a Mix and it had an 8t driver. So im just gonna ride it out and get a 9t when I need it.

i rode 28-8 for about 4 months and never snapped a chain you will be fine... i actually snapped more chain when i was 28-9 or 25-9 in 4 months than 28-8

Since you have a smaller driver in the back it has to spread the load of each crank over less teeth and thus over less links in the chain.

Okay that's what I figured. I had a 28 and I said fuck running 28-8, too many hills where I live so I traded with my cousin. (Had the same sprocket just in 25)

Yeah, that's the only advantage I can think of. Smaller everything, which is less weight I guess. But I don't give a shit about weight. My friend is a weight weenie to the extreme. He took my compression bolt because he said it was a little lighter than his. ._.
