I've been running 36/13 gearing for a while and I like it, but I ride street alot so it doesnt bother me. but now it's winter, and cold, and snowy, so now i want to start riding some skateparks. I see that the majority of people run 25/9, but whats the big difference?

Lower profile so you don't hit it off the coping is a plus.

or you can just hop into ramps instead.

25/9 is lighter and more out of the way on grinds. i would suggest a guard sprocket if your gonna keep running 36/13 i snapped my chain when i use to have it before i got a guard sprocket.

okay. i've never really ridden at a park before so I guess i'll just try with what I have now. If I like riding parks I might switch.

and if i choose to switch what's the cheapest sprocket/wheel combo I can get that won't break the second i get it.

looking for a double walled rim. hopefully sealed bearings

i ride 36 and 16 i think. but all my shit is extra big. i have the 415 chain and the acs fatclaw and the profile blackjack.

if you cant get those then for park 25/9 would be better so its outa the way. but if you have what i have, your frame will break before your gearing will

if you plan on riding for a while, buy something that will last. something like a primo mix to a 7ka or a g-sport ratchet to a rollcage. you'll be much happier in the long run and you'll save a lot of money, but here are some rims/hubs to consider. and some sprockets, too.

Rims
G-Sport Rollcage/Ribcage
Odyssey 7K-A/Hazard Lite
Fly Bikes Rear

Hubs
G-Sport Ratchet
Primo Mix
Profile/Madera
Eclat Teck

Sprockets
Tree Light
Odyssey MDS/Vermont
Animal Lite V2
