My current set up is 33/12 slammed with a half link.. I want to go to a higher gear ratio without using a half link, and according to this calculator 30/9 is the smallest I can go and still slam it without the half link.. the measurements on the chainstays (a little above 13.5) are exactly the same for both setups.. I don't mind the harder pedaling, because I like the speed, but will my driver take a shit too quickly with this setup??

Should be fine but it will definitely make the driver/chain's lives shorter.
