Who runs what and why? Do you prefer the ease of 36s or like the look of 48s? Is there any extra strength in more spokes, or is it the ability to twist?

48 is stronger. But with the strength of rims these days, the extra 12 spokes, and their weight is kind of redundant

I like 48s and have em on my midschool bike but my main has 36s and are holding up well even being built by me haha.

I rode 48s way back in the day. I still like the look of them, but as mentioned I believe today's 36s are just as strong or close to.

Go with the 36s. Just buy some strong ones like my ribcage! There's someone here selling a nice birdcage set cheap.

I run 48s on most my builds because I'm a heavy dude and They are solid. Low maintenance . plus I'm used to riding 48s and 40 lb bikes lol

I'd run 48s if there were more options, just because of ease of maintenance. You will rarely have to true or tighten spokes with 48s. I don't ride to heavy or weigh a lot, so I don't need them at all,but I would ride them anyway.
