My hub has 6 pawls and 48 engagement points. Its using a C clip to hold them and that where the problem comes from. The clip just can't hold all the 6 pawls in their place. I found that with 4 pawls its working flawlessly. Is it ok to leave it like this?

Hi bike guru here the reason they use 6 paws is it will last longer with a 6 paws instead of a 4 paws the 6 paw has only 3 ingagement points at a time where a 4 paw might only have 1 or 2 ingagement point because of the spacing of the teeth to the relation of the paws. It should work fine till the paws wear down or the hubs paw contact point wear dont and wont ingage any more and start to slip and you bust you nads on the top tube ouch. Bike guru.
