Im skeptical of carbon fibre there are may good things about it ,its light strong and has a little flex. The downside is if you break it you have to buy a new one.I prefer to have a traditional wheel ,where if a break a spoke a can just replace it.
Its a great innovation tho.

I would just get these. They have been around almost as long as BMX has, and, actually, I'm going to be getting a set of these soon, for my next build.

But the skyways are plastic, and i like how smooth the aerospokes are. plus because they use profile internals itd be easy to upgrade them.

I get what you're saying, but skyways are also graphite composite as well. I just can't see spending that much on wheels that I wouldn't trust when the temp drops below 40.

Funny how mags come and go over the years.

i wonder how they would hold up with pegs and landing funny? also how would they act on tricks like whips and flips with all the pressure?

the whole point is that they will hold up fine and never need to be trued

|

1/12/2013 4:52 PM

Sounds interesting and expensive.
I'm no too sure how they would hold up to heavy street riding, let's say Sean Burns style which i highly dough anybody on here has.

freestyle fixed gear companies should stay the hell away from bmx, they already jack our tricks and spots... do something original for a change

take your ear plugs out and get some spoked wheels

Do you think I could send in my profiles and get them to install them into a set for me? Or I could install them myself? It almost looks like they are molded in during the manufacturing process.

I'm not surprised vital people are saying they'd want these but regular wheels are better in a lot of ways I'm going to stick with
them and see how far aerospokes go

yea i would never put these on a bike i ride at the skatepark but they would be cool to have. i honestly don't think that anything will get rid of the traditional spoked wheel.
