So i am seting up brakes for the first time. Springfields, should be easy right? I have them mostly setup but when i pull the lever instead of pulling the cable and brake arms, it pulls the cable housing the other way. Isn't there supossed to be something that screws into the frame here [img]https://bmx-media-bucket-photo.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/forums/2014/07/31/34004/s1200_image.jpg[/img to hold the cable housing back?

Yeah, you need a cable stop and a barrel adjuster. Won't work without that.

Idk. These are the only other things that came with the springfields.

I was under the impression that springfields came with EVERYTHING i needed to run brakes...

The Springfields don't come with your brake mounts, no brakes do. You'll need to find a cable stop. Either check with a local shop or buy some off Dan's.

Dam man sorry to hear. Yeah you'll have to buy those separate as not all frames use universal ones thus they can't really include them with your brakes. Hope you get it sorted soon

If you can find the cablestop you can use a hose clamp, it wont look pretty, but it will work.

ive had multiple friends leave them in the box and then throw it away
it probably was under some packing, you didnt see it and chucked the box
when a frame company packs a frame, i have a hard time believing a company would forget to put it in
anyways, you can get replacements on dans, dont hit the company up and bitch about it and blame them, its 99% most likely your fault

so long as his frame is tapped for a m10 threading. which it could be, if not, he could tap it in another spot.

Other thing is to find a female connecting screw with the right thread that will be the right length to go through the top tube and screw down snuggly onto the mount, and then use some locktite, and drill your frame for it.
