I've been out of the game for a while and the only changes I can see if that theres more useless shit and it all costs more, but what really baffled me is these Animal BPE's, £60 for a plastic pedal? Am I missing something?

They use Bushings instead of Bearings, that's it. Especially seeming as Odyssey JCPC's don't use Bearings either. I like Animal, but IMO they're a waste of money. I ride Metals though so I'm not really bothered.

You can replace the body too. I dont think they sell just the bodies though, so i don't really know the point

total sack of shit and a waste of money. Pointless pedals ever bpe stands for 'Best Pedals Ever', altough they are a pile of shit. get jcpc pedals, metal pins and bushings. animals will wear out quick time like twisted pc pedals or other shit plastic pedals

They're supposed to be releasing replacement bodies for them eventually which i think was supposed to be a big selling point for the pedals, along with not having to worry about bearings blowing out and stuff. The savings of the replacement bodies would take awhile for them to pay off for me though, i only switch pedals about once a year.

I have no use for them seeing as i own JCPC's i've replaced my right side once and my left side needs to be replaced now. after two years.
