I had 28-10 gearing on a bike a while ago and liked it alot, and i might invest in a coaster soon. As far as cassettes go, only few still make 10t like madera, profile, maybe primo

Small sprockets feel like shite, especially with a coaster and in my experience, they kill the driveside bearing quicker due to the 'slam' when the coaster finally engages.

Also I'm sure profile could make you a custom 10t or higher if you're willing to spend the money

I was pretty surprised that the z coaster didn't have one as an option. Does it take a conventional driver?

Khe is your best bet. Find an old geisha or aestern

Someone riding a freecoaster won't feel the benefit of energy lost through the chain anyway. It's not like you'll be practicing gates at the local track. 25 9 will be fine. 9 tooth drivers had their problems in the past, but they, and freecoasters, have been around long enough to have those issues worked out. Unless you don't maintain your hub, or treat it like shit. Just get a good freecoaster and maintain it from time to time
