1. cross lacing. it's proven stronger/stiffer
2. straight gauge tubing. we need tough not light frames
3.brakes. the possibilities and safety
4.shorter cranks. for the smaller guys
5. freecoasters. thie growing scne is causing companies to think outside the box for new designs and the design of coasters is progressing really fast

Trails, even though they aren't a super trendy thing, they are getting bigger than they were when I started riding.

Frames are going back slightly over 5 pounds

I agree with the first 2 points, but I can't agree with the last point, I don't and never will see bmx becoming more mainstream as a good thing.

I would rather see bmx stay under the radar, when things become a part of the mainstream all sorts of people jump on it for all the wrong reasons, bmx doesnt belong to pop culture or trendy swagfags. Bmx will lose its true identity and its authenticity if it becomes like that, and that's never a good thing.
