Is it possible to do this?

I have a pair of bars I like and nothing is wrong with them except the knurling for the stem. Wouldn't putting grooves into the knurled area with a hacksaw work? Like not deep grooves but putting a decent pressure on the saw and dragging it along the area 2 or 3 times to re grip it?

Also I am quite excited. This post will be updated later on. Either tomorrow or the day after. I am excited because I will be getting a different wheelset and 2.4 hawk tires tomorrow. And if anything I will be on my new fit wifi tomorrow as well.

Try it, you have nothing to lose.
I read something about using tin foil for temporary fix for the knurlings, but I don't know if it really works

You say BMX is your life but you barely ride.
BUT hey, That's none of my business.

Use a rough file, not a hacksaw.

A knife might work too. Just try to recreate the knurling I guess

Done the hacksaw way and worked well, most bars on the clamping area are as thick as the grip area so that gives you an idea of how careful to be. I personally did two light strokes, only need to make a slight mark.

wrap a strip of sandpaper around your bars and super glue it

Wrap the non grit side around the bars and glue it on. Then tighten the stem normally

How long would that really last?
It's sandPAPER. Key word, paper. Very nondurable.

Go DIAGONALLY for the knurling, DO NOT GO TOO DEEP (lol).

Rough up the inside of the stem too. I use a utility knife for the stems typically. ALWAYS CUT AWAY FROM YOURSELF WITH THOSE.
