How long did it take you to land a bar soon since you first started riding bmx, I’ve been riding for 8 months and just got curious

Ive only landed one after trying for a year. 80% commitment trick.

I like riding my bike.

2-3 days of hardcore commitment
3 weeks of mental preperation
1 year of riding and watching barspins in slowmo

lol

I didn't even try to learn hop bars until almost 2 years of riding. Once I actually started practicing them, I landed my first within a couple of days, and I had them dialed within like a month.

I tried pull up bars today and ended up with a bar end to the bottom of my nuts... I’m still going to keep trying tho

After almost exactly 1 year of starting BMX :
- 6 months of contemplating it but not trying to throw it.
- (comfortable with chicken bars in the meantime)
- Landed in ~2h the first day I tried them.

Landed my first bar last night after 16-17 months of riding. Been able to do pull-up bars for probably 8-10 months now, just couldn't commit to throwing them. Landed in like 3 tries after I could commit. It helped me to throw a half bar first and then go to full bars.

I was in my first serious year of riding and did manual (pull up as the kids call em now) barspins all over the place. Hit a dirt table and hucked em. Had em consistent pretty fast.

I've tried a few times going really slow and not pulling up at all. I fell. Well, half fell. I was going to slow to actually go all the way down.

One problem is I'm doing them on my cruiser and my tire hits my forward foot. I'm not sure this is an issue with BMX bikes and if you have to put your pedals more vertical......

I think when I get serious about trying it I'm going to do it in the park on the gravel bike path instead of the concrete. Might boost my confidence of not getting hurt. LOL.

Does it count as a bar spin if your tire doesn't leave the ground?

Pull-up bar

I was asking about a one without pulling up. Tire on the ground totally, and spinning the bars 360.

It took me probably a bit under 2 years to try a pull-up bar and I crashed hard a few times and decided bar spins in general are not for me lol. I like how they look and I would love to have the trick in my repertoire but it's too high-risk for me currently.

I've always called them rolling bars. My brother can do like 5 or 6 at a time; just, starts the first one, takes his hands away and rolls along letting them spin by themselves. I'll never understand it.

Tried to watch your bro's IG clip but his account is private just FYI. No one will be able to see it without following him first. I think i understand what you mean though and it sounds pretty cool!

I was working on these 180 spins last night and almost got them without falling over. I didn't work very long at it but it's fun!
