Best Bike around $700

Save it for a car no need to ask if you have 700. People only ask what bike to get if they have around 350 to 500 you have 700 there's are tons of good bike for that price. it your money buy what you want. If you want to fit buy it. How old are we talking about.

friend of mine got the dugan sig. after 6 months, hes had bent forks, messed up cranks, stripped stem and bars. he doesnt even ride very hard. most of the fits are solid though.

That's kind of worrying. Should I be looking at something else, or was that just a fluke or something?

I appreciate the advice, but I would rather stay with a full chomoly frame. I haven't read very many good things about Hiten steel besides being cheap.

What about a Fit Dugan Sig, it's full chromoly and looks really good, maybe a subrosa letum, that looks good aswell

I have never heard of a Specialized Redline Sworks...and I worked for the biggest Specialize dealer in the nation.

Must be a Specialized with some redline stuff.

I would look for anything FULL CHROMOLY, double wall rims, and sealed bearings.

Outside of that for the most part it is up to you.

The best bike for that money is a custom.

800 isn't going to get you shit for a custom

Your going to need at least 1500 to 2 grand for a decent custom

A United parts package with a frame will be more then 800 and even then your pretty much just getting a stock complete

If I had 700 I would just buy a mongoose mode 900 and save the rest for replacement parts when they break

how are you going to generalize a race in this. my parents wouldn't buy me shit over $100. i need to save my own money. $800 for a bike is not stupid, even though customs usually are better for the money.

i paid around 1500 usd for my bike... which i earned, from the job i work, to make a living, to pay bills, and buy myself items i desire, and yes i am white.

Hey I'm not white I'm Brown. I'm 18 I have a good job my parents have never gave me a dime to buy parts. I spent way more than what I'm asking. Also most of the parts are lightly used and not beat up. I was just putting it out there it's a really solid bike For the money.

Usually I think spending alot of cash on a complete is a waste. I just redead your original post and overlooked that your just getting into it. Yeah I'd stalk craigslist for a few weeks and see what pops up for around $400 ish. I wouldn't sink a ton of money into a D/S/P bike until you create a base line for your self. You don't know what you like and what feels right for you yet.

Stop asking whats better for me Kink, WTP, or Fit etc... And start asking stuff like whats better for me a 20.5" 21.25" or a 22" TT... Headtube angle, sesttube angle, chainstay etc... The difference between a racebike and a D/S/P bike are HUGE.

The price of the Haro is a bit more due to a better frame with butted tubing, better for with investment cast drop out, some aftermarket Demolition parts, and a free coaster rear wheel.

The Haro is a better bike but the question is do you NEED that extra stuff.

If you are willing to spend $650 or so on a used after market complete I have one of Brandon Dosch's old bikes here I'd be willing to sell.
