Ok so i am rebuilding my bike and the last thing i need is a new hub. I am a intermediate rider. I love grinding, feeble, smith, double.. you get the point. but i can't seem to find a hub thats for me because just about every hub has a problem with the rider. I need a hub that is durable, won't break on me, cheap like 180$ max, and that is lightweight.

Gsport ratchet.

Strong, Light and Cheap. Right.

Madera or Antigram.

I haven't rode an Antigram yet, but I think I'm gonna scoop a set next time I need hubs.

I'm on a Maderas now, and they have their problems, but none of them are deal breaking, and the price is right.

There are some who will hate on the Ratchet but it would be my first choice for a street hub. Antigram would be a close second.

What are the major differences between the tree and the profile/madera hubs?

If you're big into grinding I really recommend the Ratchet. It's crazy solid and really nice overall, I prefer it to all the hubs I have had. It even makes a rather nice sound in my opinion. I may try a double spring in it later on too just for shits and giggles. Oh good engagement too. Mine barely ever skips.

Profiles are cool if you don't grind a lot or really hard. I think the Ratchet has a one above it there. haha

I also recommend the Antigram for a grinder. 14mm female has so many pluses.

been on the same ratchet for 3 years and had ZERO problems. if i had to get a different rear hub, i would get the antigram.

Id suggest demolition , never had a problem with demolition hubs

I've had the ratchet for at least 3 years now and no problems except letting my axle rust because I've left out in the rain so much, but the bearings still work the same, that should show how well made the hub is, not even I can Fuck it up over time

This, mine are 2+ years old and run like NEW. Granted I take care of my stuff, and I don't grind all the time.

from my personal experience practically all cassette hubs f****** suck in some way

basically if you want a hub that doesn't skip it wont roll and if you want a hub that rolls your best off getting a stock hub because they roll 10 times better than any aftermarket hub

Made the switch from Profile to Tree, couldnt be happier. The Tree is faster, by far.

It's probably the Government screwing with you.

I have had many aftermarket hubs, and they have all worked great with ONE exception, I had an Integral hub (primo side brand) and the spring clip crapped out, they sent me a replacement, and it crapped out in like a week again.

Otherwise I have never had an issue with rolling etc.
