I was thinking either snafu mayweathers, animal akimbo or demolition revolt. But I'm open to other suggestions

I've had my Device G7's since they came out, just over two years now, and they are the most solid cranks I've had. And at the price Albes has them at, they're the best cranks you can get for that price. You can get the cranks and BB for less than most of the other higher end cranks by themselves.

what is so good about Akimbos? I would get them if it wasn't 48 spline
so I say Thunderbolts are #1 at this moment

solid bitch. Still waiting for my barcode to come then I will put mine on. Get thunderbolts. or the stolen 22mm

Any Eclat Crank
Animal Akimbos
Solid Bitch Cranks
Primo Hollow/Powerbites
Shadow Noctis
BSD Substance
Demo Revolt 24mm are Your best bet (Fuck The 19mms)
Fit Indent 24mm (Comes With A B.B You HAVE To Have A Mid Frame Though!)
Profile Columns (Don't Bother With ANY 19mm 48 Splined Cranks TBH)
Odyssey Thunderbolts Meh :- / I have Flatware Twombolts & Whilst I DO Like Them, I'm still not blown away by how "Awesome" they are... There ARE Better Cranks available!

|

12/15/2013 10:29 AM

i wouldn't bother with indents. Have had a friend return the 19's because they were too flexy and he snapped the 24's off at the pedal boss.

|

12/15/2013 10:34 AM

I don't get why people don't like 19 mm 48 splined cranks I've never had a problem with mine

|

12/15/2013 11:46 AM

Noctis are pretty good, but they are not the best. I think that thunderbolts or tibias are the best. The noctis should have been 48s to be better.

48 spline spindles tend to wear out & develop the "profile wobble" as it's known, meaning even when tight, the crank arms move up & down due to worn splines.

It's happened to my Fit Indents (mostly because I didn't know about this issue yet and my cranks were sometimes run a little loose) and my Animal Akimbos, even though I kept the bolts piss tight this time. Both started doing this after only about a year & a half of riding them. They were solid cranks, never broke or cracked. But that constant shifting feeling in the cranks was shitty

i have animal crabks they are alright, very disappointed with how they come loose in an hour or less of riding

i also have stranger cranks on my main ride they rarely come loose but there not really available to buy anymore

i plan on getting solid cranks next to go with the new frame, and because im getting all parts from the best companies

I like my Premium 1948s.

My buddy (as seen above) broke some Thunderbolts. He is tall but light. I was surprised.

Funny thing is, he is just like so many people on here, breaks one part and complains that the company that made the part "Sucks and he will never buy from them again".

Majority of the cranks on the market right now are pretty solid with a few exceptions. Find ones that you like and look up reviews on them or get back to us about them for information.
I just got my Fit Indent 24s and love them.
