Here's the new wax recipe I created, works amazing!
Just saying, but it feels just like store-bought wax and the cologne and deodorant aren't necessary but they make it smell better and make it more smooth.
I put the prices but most of these are things you should have at home..
1 crayon (50 cents)
3 and a half tbps canola (vegetable) oil (3 dollars)
Medium sized candle (2 dollars)
1/2 cap deodorant (4 dollars)
Food-coloring so it looks good.
2 caps of any cologne
Instructions:
Boil crayon and candle stick with half the oil
Add cologne.
Add deodorant.
Keep stiring till it's well mixed and starting to get bubbles.
Let it dry well (fridge/freezer).
Post pics of results and tell me how well it works if you try it! smile

So when you cook it, what's the best way to prevent it sticking in a pan? Does the oil do that, or should someone get a cheap garage sale pan for this?

That's awesome! I've been using just candles as wax last year so i'm definitely going try this when i get the chance. Just wondering did you mean boil them in a pot.

I think youre doing too much here. Me and my friends just melt down however many random candles we can find laying around or cheap dollar ones and add a decent amount of vegetable oil which makes it buttery as fuck. Pour it into a chicken noodle soup can, stick it in the freezer over night, and cut the can off in the morning. Instant brick of buttery ass wax. The more oil you use, the butterier it is and the harder it will be for rain to wash it away, but also the easier it is for pegs to remove it. So you need a happy medium.

You dont need coloring and scents and all that shit. Its grind wax for fucks sake. Youre going to rub it all over concrete and then put your pegs all over it. And IMO, uncolored wax is the best because if you get caught rubbing colored wax all over something you can get charged with vandalism.

But i personally just buy a mini candle from the dollar store for like 25 or 50cents and it lasts for a few weeks. Candle wax already comes with more oils in it than most grindwaxes have, so not only is it cheapier, but it works ALOT better. Cheaper candles usually work the best because the higher quality candle are less oily so that they burn slower.

I put an empty can of diced tomatoes in a frying pan with the label off and just put it to med-high heat. Post a picture if you do try it out!

Yeah I know but I found the deodorant makes it more crispy I guess. And I found it to be the same or if not better than the wax I bought from my local shop. As for the whole vandalism thing, I don't use street ledges as much as I do my rail or ledges at the parks I live close too so its okay for me I guess. But yeah I get what you're saying.

I put either a pan or a coke can on the stovetop put candle wax/oils/butter in melt it all then pour it either in a empty deodorant container so it works as the deodorant and moves up and down with the bottom thing or leave it in a coke can and cut that can off.

Too much money , buy candles . Same thing and cheaper , less hassle , more amounts.

It could be fun if you have money to waste or you feel proud making it yourself.

I'd just spend the dollar, making your own wax sounds like too much work. Alternatively, just go faster

I got bored one day and made some wax. I used a few candles, some crayons, and some lard. I don't grind, but all my friends said it was the best shit they ever used.
